Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

I went back to bed until the alarm went off to feed my dogs. @Nala2022. I’m thinking maybe a bed day it is. The only thing is that I need to go and get dog food and insulin needles. I think I need to be really careful with how I look after myself today.

I have all the numbers saved into my phone so I don’t need to look for them when I need them, they are just ready to go.

As for support I think it’s just knowing someone is listening and cares. Just knowing that there really is people around and that I’m not alone. That someone can tell that what I am doing is just enough.

Re: I can’t cope

Sorry @MissGremlin I went back to sleep until the dogs breakfast alarm went off. I wanted to turn it off but it’s not worth risking Pix getting sick. I have to go and hang my washing on the line and I might just go back to bed.

You need to look after yourself. And yes… take it moment by moment which is really hard for me to say. But we will both make it through. Maybe we can rest together.

Re: I can’t cope

A bed day honestly sounds okay if that’s what you need today @Captain24

You’ve got a couple of essential things to do, but it also sounds like you’re being really mindful about not pushing yourself too hard

It’s good you’ve already got those numbers saved, that makes things a bit easier if you need them.

You’re not alone in this, and what you’re doing right now really is enough for today 💛

Hi @MissGremlin

I’m sorry you’re feeling this rough this morning, feeling dizzy and hallucinating on top of exhaustion sounds really scary and draining ☹️

You’re doing the right thing by not trying to take on the whole day at once. Just focusing on the coffee and then the next small step after that is enough for now

Please try to rest as much as you can today and be really gentle with yourself. I’m really glad you’ve said you’re safe 💛

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24 it's ok sweet, I'm glad you went back to sleep for a bit. Hoping you can get some rest today, it sounds like it's very much needed.

Believe me it's hard for me to say too, but somehow we can do it. I want to have a shower but I don't know if I can manage it.

Re: I can’t cope

I don’t usually have bed days but I just think that’s all I can manage. I do have to do the dogs stuff but I need to wait until the food order is in and I prefer to go to the vet and get the insulin needles out of consult hours. So that will be this afternoon. Maybe things may have shifted by then. @Nala2022.

Thanks for having my back. I’m one to push myself pretty hard when feeling like this as I feel I need to be doing stuff and pushing so hard that I get through the day but also as punishment for feeling so bad. I’m slowly learning that that’s not what I should be doing but sometimes it’s hard to stop old habits.

Re: I can’t cope

Old habits can be really hard to step away from, especially when things feel heavy @Captain24, it’s really common to default to pushing through or even being hard on yourself

Waiting until this afternoon for the vet trip sounds like a good way to pace things, and hopefully things do feel a bit more manageable by then.

You don’t need to punish yourself for feeling this way. Just getting through the day in a gentler way is enough. No worries at all, I know you can handle more than you think, but it's okay to not always be okay. I have those days too, we all do 💛

Re: I can’t cope

Hello @Nala2022, it's definitely both scary and draining. I feel like things have just crashed so suddenly, like my mood just hit rock bottom and I feel like i have nothing in me to try to lift it.

I've just got back home, I need to do dishes and I want to have a shower but I don't know if I can manage either. I never leave the dishes though but I've sat on the lounge and I feel frozen, like i can't move even if I wanted to.

I'm feeling nauseous on top of everything else which is making my anxiety so much worse. There's a part of me that thinks I should reach out to mental health triage due to the thoughts/feelings I'm sitting with and how intense they are but then there's another part that's scared and that doesn't want to be a bother and wants to try to just push through. Very much feeling stuck and conflicted. I'm still safe for now, I've got Casper laying on top of me, just trying to work out what my next step is.

I'm feeling so disappointed that the support worker never made contact with me for our time today, the only support I have and it's completely unreliable.

Re: I can’t cope

I'm sorry you're going through a lot right now, it can feel so hard to push through at times, especially when your mood drops @MissGremlin

That sounds really overwhelming, especially with the nausea and anxiety on top

When things hit this low, even small tasks can feel impossible at times.

Reaching out to mental health triage is absolutely okay if things feel this intense. You wouldn’t be a bother at all, that's what they're there for.

I’m really glad you’ve got Casper with you, and I’m glad you’ve said you’re still safe. Try to just focus on the next small step

Re: I can’t cope

@Nala2022 i pushed myself, I thought that maybe if I did those things that I would feel better. It's done the complete opposite, I did the dishes, took the bins out and had a shower and now i feel so much worse both physically and mentally (still safe).

I've just sat down on my lounge but I'm going to lay down soon just trying to let things settle before I move again cos I need to get my blanket before I can lay down.

I'm scared that reaching out to mental health triage will either result in them trying to force me to go to hospital or them not being able/willing to help me.
