Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I can imagine sleep is hard! @tyme 😀 You can tell how much you love your niece.

I have enough trouble when I let Pix sleep on my bed. She’s little but manages to take up the whole bed! Lol.

Just found out we are doing dinner tonight but at least it’s only an hr at the pub. I will cope amazingly well with that. And I do t need to grocery shop for tonight. So win win.

Wow I’m sounding more positive that yesterday!!! Go me

All the best with dinner tonight @Captain24 . Next thing I find hard with eating out is that it is supposed to be a treat. I end up choosing the 'wrong' foods lol.

I guess with family, it's about appreciating them while you have them. That's all I can say. My parents are so painful when I see them, but when I don't have them, it doesn't make my heart grow fonder.

My brother called in to drop something off and we stood out the front and talked for an hr. Without arguing!! Dinner went ok too. No arguing!

I had protein, potato and salad! Sounds good ey!!! @tyme

I get the whole parent thing. My heart certainly doesn’t grow fonder! However I see mine way too often. But I am growing to accept them as they are. It’s not always easy though.

Re: I can’t cope

I was wondering if you could help me understand something @tyme

I had a pretty good couple of hours this afternoon between chatting to my bro and dinner. But now I have crashed. I’ve been okish all day before hand. I just don’t understand it. I seems to happen a lot lately

Re: I can’t cope

Yeah, well I see mine once or twice a year @Captain24 . And I never speak to them on the phone. Hence I appreciate them when they are here, or when I go and visit. But seriously, visits are a year apart.

So yes, as much as you live by yourself, you are still very much involved in each others lives.

As for not arguing with your bro, good on you.

Actually, when I think about it, I argue heaps with my sister. Like today, I was having an iced mocha. She kept telling me to hurry and finish it because her youngest daughter wanted some. I'm like, "No! Let me take my time and enjoy it!" Then I said, "if she can't have my iced mocha (coffee), why don't you let her drink your iced chocolate?" So these are the stupid arguments we have.

Yet we get over it, because deep down, we both know arguing is a sign of closeness when it comes to siblings.

As for my parents, I don't argue with them because i don't see them enough. I can't say I am close to them. They don't know what I do, and I don't know what they do. So when they visit or I visit them, when they start lecturing, I seriously just bite my tongue and take DEEP breaths. It's not worth the arguing when I only see them once a year.

Re: I can’t cope

Yes me parents are way to involved but I have put a lot of distance between us and still working on it. @tyme

That sounds like me and my bro

Im heading off to bed. If you can’t help with the question above that’s ok.

Hope you sleep well and have a good day tomorrow

Re: I can’t cope

It's very common @Captain24 . For me, it was a subconscious understanding that after a period of okay, then comes a crash. I was therefore more sensitive and susceptible (and wary) of anything in the environment or in my own body that even remotely meant "You are now going to have a crash".

Hence, I somehow brought it on myself.

Also, as the sun sets, chemicals change in our body so we are more in-tuned to risk. Hence the catastrophising.

What you are describing is soooo common

Re: I can’t cope

I get the night time thing @tyme. I’ve learnt that over the last 6 months. Sometimes it kicks in and sometimes it doesn’t. I guess when the ‘good’ happens afternoon or evening that’s why.

I still have it though after a good moment during the day. Maybe it is me expecting it. I didn’t realise I did. Something else I need to learn! Maybe I need to come up with strategies to help

prevent it or at least lessen it. I just have to figure out what and when it exactly happens.

Thank you for your help.

Hope you got a good night sleep and enjoy your pool today!

Re: I can’t cope

I’m on struggle street today😢

I didn’t have a very good conversation with my dad this morning. Then I went grocery shopping and saw the HR manager that stood me down from work.
Seeing her bought back all the pain and shame.

I just don’t know how to move passed it again….
