Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

Re: I can’t cope

I have a fantastic psych! @AlwaysMyself Plus she is really excited that I’m coming down in person on Tuesday. She did remind me though that if I wasn’t up to it not to push myself to go. I need to look at for me and not worry about her.

I need to remember that Pix has been really really sick and it will take a while but also she is a big sleeper and lays around most of the day. So it’s hard to know what is normal, what is residual from being sick and what is the insulin!

What are you up to today?

Re: I can’t cope

Hopefully Pix is just settling back into normal restful routine, and physically recovery catch-up of rest from the stressful week. 🤗 @Captain24 . I love how aware you are though so that you know to keep an eye on it in case it becomes abnormal or also have other symptoms that combined are cause for increased concern 😊.

I just got home from my morning appointment. But the movement (incl as basic as eye movements!) of driving, walking, and our pre-appt cafe stop have set off physical withdrawal effects from the medication taper. I dropped to a lower dosage again on Monday, so it is in-line with the delay of "peak symptoms" that i've had with the previous dosage drops too. So whilst I would like to have lunch, i can't currently make it and need to lay down first. I think i will put on some music ans shut my eyes until the dizziness and brain-zaps go away. If i push through them (like when i was out) it progresses to nausea too, but i know that will subside once the other 2 symptoms also settle again. Not sure how long it will take.

I’m very aware of my dogs. That’s why I got her to the vet so quick. I knew something pretty bad was wrong. The fact that I was on top of it means that her diabetes may only be transient. I’m working on the fact that it’s permanent but I am hoping it’s not. If I had t got to it so quick it would definitely be permanent. @AlwaysMyself. Plus I could give the vet a detailed seated what was happening for her so the vet knew the right place to look.

That sounds hectic. As much as I am aware of my dogs you are so aware of yourself! You know what is happening and why and when and for how long. You amaze my with your self intuition. I really hope it settles down for you quickly. How much longer to you have until you are off them? I had a taper and it was brutal. I will never go back on those meds again.

Re: I can’t cope

This last week hasn’t been a good week for me also @Captain24

won’t go into the full details. Feeling overwhelmed and constantly on edge with anxiety nerves running wild.

still trying to sort out things with firm that is making roller blinds for my alfresco area, electrician and my GP.

Each time things appear to be fairly running smooth something else happens and sends my spiralling

its great to hear the news about Pix. Fingers crossed she’s only resting following her bath. Wondering if maybe the time at the vets has caught up with her and she needs some sleep to let her body settle back to being at home

how is Jett going?

Re: I can’t cope

I’m sorry things aren’t going well. @Flutterbug9. It always seems like one step forward two steps back. I hope things work out soon.

Yeah Pix is still recovering so I just need to give her some time. But it is hard as it’s hard to know what is what and what to keep an eye on.

Jett is doing well. He is kinda cute as he has been laying close by Pix for the last 2 days. Places he doesn’t normally lay.

Re: I can’t cope

Another week and a half on this dosage @Captain24 , and then the plan is I'm completely off them. Its gone pretty well, honestly. Much better than expected..and no mood decline from it either which of course makes things so so much easier - goes to show the meds weren't helping 🫠 lol.

Re: I can’t cope

At least the end is in sight. @AlwaysMyself. I guess they weren’t! I went through a couple of days of severe depression each drop. My psych suggested a couple of times to have a break and not drop it for two weeks instead of each week. Just to give me a break. It got harder as the dose got lower.

The vet just called to check in on Pix! She is happy with how she is going and any concerns and I’m to ring her or the other vet straight away. Can’t complain about the care. She has to go back in on Wednesday night and have a couple of tests done before she has dinner and her insulin. Hopefully it’ll be good news.

How did your dogs go with their vaccinations yesterday?

Re: I can’t cope

Animals have a way of sensing when another animal or a human isn’t well.

please give Pix and Jett some pats from me @Captain24

Re: I can’t cope

Jett suffers separation anxiety pretty badly. He doesn’t cope when he isn’t around Pix @Flutterbug9. If he doesn’t know where she s he panics. When I took her to the vet on Friday he was a bit out of sorts and struggles a little until I brought her home Saturday. When I took her on Sunday and didn’t bring her home he was shaking when I walked in the door. He was by my side at all times while she wasn’t here. He was so excited to see her Tuesday morning.

I currently have one on each side of me. Jett was sitting on Pix but she kept growling at him so I had to move him! 😂

The vet that called seems to be happy with what Pix is doing and how she is going. She was actually a little surprised that she isn’t on pain relief anymore.

How was your day?

Re: I can’t cope

Wow wow and wow... I've just finished catching up @Captain24 . What a journey and a half. I'm so glad Pix is home and that you have your baby back.

I read about your psych too. That's so amazing of her. I wonder if you can accept the discounted price and then when you can, gradually pay her back a little each time? I've always said you're the perfect patient lol.

I hope you get a bit of a breather. I know it's all still very much trial and error, but hopefully you can get into the swing of things and move forward from there.

Thank you for trusting us with your journey.
