I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I know it can feel hard to connect and talk to people for you, but from the receiving end I have found you very easy to connect with. I hope you can share some of those feelings of connectedness for yourself that you give to others.

Poor Pixie and poor you. How did you know she was sick? I have such a fear of my dog getting sick and me not knowing.

Re: I can’t cope

I hope Pix is not in too much pain. Doesn't sound nice @Captain24 .

One mistake I made that i want to share so you don't make the same mistake, is that when I found out, I spent a good amount of my remaining time and energy on trying to 'detach' from my clinician, thinking it would make things easier. Instead, I go more upset and angrier, as well as wasted the precious time I had left in therapy with him.

Looking back, I think I would have wanted to accept the inevitable, acknowledge my hurt, then make the most of the the remaining time.

I know you can do it @Captain24 . I'm sure it is hard to find a good GP that you can connect with, let alone one in your area. But as I said, maybe this is a step towards a new journey for you.

Re: I can’t cope

You learn to read them. Pixie didn’t want to play as much, she is sleeping lots and the blood on her butt was the biggest sign. I don’t think she is in much pain as she isn’t panting lots or doing the downward dog stretch.

I find it really hard to make connections @Former-Member . That is why you rarely see me on social threads and mainly on my own or only a couple of others.

I will make the most of my time left @tyme. As much as I’m hurt I still need a lot of support and need to keep focusing on getting better. Hopefully I’ll be in a better place by then and can just take it in my stride. My other fear is that they don’t communicate with my nurse. But I do confidence that my GP will leave me in good hands.

I am confident of that too @Captain24 . Having a plan in place before she leaves it important. Are you able to book in at least weekly appointments with her from now until she leaves?

Re: I can’t cope

You are a very good doggy mum ❤️

And as for making connections, you don’t need to make a lot, for example on the social threads, but just ones that make you feel good. That’s all anybody needs 😊. I understand that you have a difficult time with connections, but I think you do amazingly. @Captain24

Re: I can’t cope

At the moment it is mostly weekly depending on work @tyme. So I’ll keep it that way. I’m sure she will help me with the transition.

Re: I can’t cope

In the past, I booked 6 sessions in advance. As soon as I got my roster, I made my bookings @Captain24 .

I'm sure she will follow through. She seems like such an awesome, caring GP

Re: I can’t cope

That’s a good idea @tyme. I should be able to work that out. I have my roster until the end of 2023! Thanks for the suggestion

She has been amazing!

Re: I can’t cope

I'm wrapping up now @Captain24 . Hope to speak to you in the next few days sometime.

You can do it! I know you can. You are in a much much better space than what I was when I was 'abandoned'.

I’m not ok today. I feel scared, anxious and really low. I’m irritable and agitated.
