Something’s not right

I can’t cope

I can’t cope

Hi. I’m new and have never been in anything like this before.
I’m really struggling with depression at the moment and just need a place to vent.
there is no reason as to why I feel this way. I just hate myself and feel like I’m an unworthy and useless person. I don’t have a partner or many friends. I feel like I keep pushing them away when I’m down. I’m just not worthy of them. I hate life and just wish I would go to sleep and not wake up. I feel so much emotional pain inside but numb at the same time. None of this makes any sense but it just how I feel.

I understand the fear of judgement @Kat75. I can hear my mother now if I told her anything let alone all of it! The loneliness and the know where to turn is so hard. Have you spoken to a GP about how you feel?

Re: I can’t cope

I did reach out and call @Former-Member. I discussed the attempt and how I’m feeling now. I’ve been given a different way to look at it. I’m still in the place of wanting to give in and die but I have to look at it as I’ve gotten through before that maybe I can get through again.

Re: I can’t cope

I'm so glad you did @Captain24 ❤️

And I agree - you've made it through once and you can make it through again. You have such power and strength. Even if it doesn't feel like it, by reaching out to the forums you show bravery.

There are a lot of strengths that you have, and I can list some that I see, but I'm wondering what you think helped you get through other times?

Re: I can’t cope

The only thing that got me through previously has been Pixie and fear of failing. @Former-Member . Now it’s just Pixie. She is my only reason to try and stay safe. I don’t have much else going for me.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24. I have spoken to my GP. Then I see Psychologists and when I feel better I stop. I am waiting to see my GP again. It is hard to get an appointment when you need it. I know I need to learn coping mechanisms. What coping strategies do you use?

Re: I can’t cope

I know that feeling like there isn't much going for us @Captain24 When my thoughts used to get really strong, it feels like there was nothing for me. But someone told me to think about what I would tell someone in my position. And then I was able to think about what strengths I had, even if they were small.

What I see when you come up on the forums are

  • A wonderful dog parent to Pixie
  • A caring, empathetic person who gives amazing support to others on the forums
  • A brave person who shares their story with the forum
  • You are determined because everyday, you try things which might help, even if you're not sure they will. Like getting up this morning to shower or calling your MH nurse
  • You are resilient because you got through medication changes

And by asking and thinking that maybe you can get through it again, I sense some hope that you can figure it out again. I wonder if we can figure that out together?

and yes, great question @Kat75, ❤️

Re: I can’t cope

I try breathing @Kat75 and walking the dog which I’ve just done for the second time today. I’ve also gotten into diamond art so I put music on and do that. That’s all I’ve got. None of it is working right now.

Thanks for your kind words @Former-Member but I’m having trouble seeing it. There are moments when I have hope that I can get through but just don’t know how anymore. I’m really struggling to get passed the last few days. Then other moments when I just want to give in, like now. My head is so messed up and thoughts are just rolling through. I can’t really make sense of any of them.

Re: I can’t cope

@Captain24, I try to walk. Like you sometimes a couple of times a day. When I am really low this is difficult. Sometimes I will just cry through the whole walk. Then I am embarrassed because people see my crying. Messed up!

Breathing is a great strategy. I try that as well.

Hey @Captain24 ,

Wassup?

Hi @Kat75 @Former-Member @Bow

Re: I can’t cope

I walk with my parents of an afternoon @Kat75 and since they don’t know what is going on I can’t really get out of it. So I have to go and it doesn’t matter what my mood is.

Just put sunnies on and cry if that’s what helps you! Don’t be embarrassed as people will probably not notice or be to scared to ask what’s wrong anyway.

I understand the wait for a GP. I live in a regional area and it can be up to a 6 week wait. Is there emergency appointments available in the mornings? I had to ring one morning and get an emergency appointment with just anyone. It was the best thing I did as I got a GP I had never heard of and she has been absolutely amazing!

Hi @tyme. it’s been a long really tough day. Hope you enjoyed your morning
