Floating
Good morning,
I’m floating. When my brain gets so overwhelmed, shuts down and overflows then I can float.

@toodles Yes to nature. Trying to get a little everyday except when it gets too wet to go outside.

Morning @toodles
How are you?
I'm still not in great shape with this cold, but if this is the worst of it, I'm doing ok 🙂
The weekly group therapy I do is based around mindfulness. It's only half a day, where we check in briefly, do some Qigong, a topic based on requests from the group (for instance, self compassion work)- using CBT, ACT or whatever. We also do some practise- meditation etc...
I've done Heaps of groups over the years. Whilst I'm not doing too bad day to day, I still look forward to my weekly session (which happens to be on Mondays, so gets my lazy self out of bed to start the week! lol)
Medication's tricky, isn't it? I've been on my current regimen for years now. I wasn't a huge fan at first- although I fully recognised for the need. But I've found I've adapted. The side effects (and yes, suppression of self) have improved. Not fully resolved. But on balance, the med's are a positive, for me.
But certainly- if you are at least honest with yourself (and the Dr prescribing) then yes, that's a great start. You're far from alone in that 🙂
Sorry to hear you were impacted by the fires And covid. It's been a rather ordinary couple of years!
As for also experiencing war, I won't ask too many questions, but wow...I cannot imagine
Bloody politics in this country (and how it is played out in the media) is awful
Anyway, another ramble, sorry.
So great you've stuck around (and met people like @Appleblossom @Former-Member )
You take good care of yourself too

Hey there @toodles, my Easter break was good, thank you. Was nice to have some sun. Hope your Easter break was a peaceful one.
I can empathise with how tiring the mind can be 💚 Please don't be so hard on yourself for not being able to "control" things. We can only ever do our best, and if that means sometimes our best isn't quite enough, I believe then we must be gentle with ourselves to allow the space for those tough times.
