Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

@EternalFlower

I learned from the staff and "clients." Work is a boon in many ways.

Not sure about your father. Find your balance with self protection and reaching out to him. Some men love to feel useful with their mechanics. I struggle with big loud personalities who often seem angry or slip into anger quickly.

I like this lady

listening to her atm.

Hi @Appleblossom

I think it is a thing of self protection as well, boundaries, and also remembering our needs.

Which can be hard with cPTSD or even just being female!

The youtuber seems wise! Good to have some nourishing content. U have great stories and good advice, I think Ur job sounded like it was a great education.

I've worked a lot with women mostly, and my colleagues have often been a certain type, kind of blunt, dominant women, which has not been easy. Last week at work a woman regaled the whole room with stories of a sex retreat thing she was going on with her husband, and how she's losing weight so she can rock it and join all the fit ppl who are going. And look good etc... She said this in front of clients and we were all talking about her bikini bod. I felt pretty embarrassed and have never been one to share personal stuff with customers like that.

You certainly do meet interesting people through work and see sides of them as well.

Hope u sleep well and get some rest,

Re: Trying makes it worse

Um too much stuff only matters if moving I guess @EternalFlower
I am in a caravan park in a site van. People seemed ok ish, but I keep to myself so not to get dragged down. Cant see myself staying here too long. Am waiting for money in a few different ways. I will be able to move again in around 4 weeks. Nice enough area geographically. So best to take advantage of whats here while I can. There are other places I could be once got money again. Some very dysfunctional people here from what seen over last couple days. Am applying for bond loan to give me some cash after having to use mine . So, goal is work on fitness and empty out storage while here, just so much stuff still

Work is not just about getting money. I only was in retail and hospitality a little but met my fair share of dominating women like that one. Not so much in the public service. I had good managers there and worked in a model experimental office and saw a lot of good interactions, though there was office politics.

I worked for a community centre for 4 years, got on well with a lovely lady at the counter, but she was "pushed out". I did not like the new person, domineering, and ran into the other one later in the supermarket who told me about it. Even when the "values" are supposed to be good those things crop up.

My daughter said I was strangely passive. In spite of my independence and education there is a 6 year old little girl stuck in me, that agrees and placates and even now, when I have a seniors card and should know better, I keep reverting to that childish behaviour.

Cant say I know what to do about Your father, apart from what you try.

I am a parent of adult children. I used work on "understanding" others and seeing the good in them, but also feel taken advantage of a lot. I have a loud old girl friend from school, and know that she has her good points. Most people are a mix. Some of the loudness is a defence or having to speak loud to be heard. Personality is interesting. the way we develop.

Mostly I think it is a mad world.

but there is beauty and goodness too.

Hope your day is reasonable.

@TAB Good to hear you have lots of walks planned.

Re: Trying makes it worse

😊 @Appleblossom day off today. Went to housing place again.
They sprung something else on me this time. Asked for bank statements yest so gave them
Got bond loan rejected due to out of date centerlink info
So updated 'assets' on mygov on ph while there this morning
Sounds like if last form gets through then have to go in to sign and agreement
Well cant get more super for around a month and bank account near empty thats why am persisting. Might get equiv of a few weeks rent with minimal repayments
Plus had to put name down for public housing so all good.
Think not staying here too long. Just til get super. Place was a zoo on wknd whem management away, saw dark side of normally outwardly social types.
Best to be away from them.

@EternalFlower

I put on extra layer and under blanket on couch.

@Former-Member Look after yourself. Wrap yourself in cotton wool for a bit. It can be scary when we fall over. We find out it is actually a long way from standing up to the ground. Hope the scan is clear.

@TAB There are all sorts. Move on if it seems right. See what opens up ...
