Welcome and getting started

Trying makes it worse

Trying makes it worse

Hi,

I'm EternalFlower and I've been feeling completely overwhelmed, sad, and pessimistic.

I've tried and been a responsible patient and person, reaching out to various services when I started feeling scarily anxious and suicidal, 2 years back..

My Dr is new, a young guy who regularly admits he's inexperienced, and aside from some good jokes, he actually does very little

I notice how easy it is to blame myself that I don't feel better, a total shame spiral, but I wander if my treatments just are bad....

I wanted to chat and hear anyone and hope I can use this space to help not feel so alone.

Thanks xxx EternalFlower

Re: Trying makes it worse

No good. @EternalFlower

Some of the new workers are fixated on forms and getting things signed but not being creative about fulfilling their real job descriptions. Sorry this has happened to you. My sc is very average, and has a new job. Just going from position to position. I was so vulnerable when I first joined as many people with MH struggles are. I tried to people please them and it has taken 4 years and associating with other people in disability and doing some study to get a sense of it is actually about MY rights.

Still we do have to work within the system, and each situation is different, but they should know that and do what they are paid to do.

Being on the NDIS can be helpful and powerful but it takes a while to adjust. Learn what is available, but take it slowly, at your pace. Best of Luck

Hello all

Hi @Appleblossom how did everything go with the plumber? Hope u have been feeling better. The artist clarissa was beautiful, do u have any more pics?

Im in hospital! Yay

But nay.lol

Hello @tonys

Hi @outlander i am doing ok here and settling in with the ndis.i have discharged myself from public mh. Joy.

Hi @RGB did u feel better after ur med change? I hope ur ok and its not too scary.

Advantages of hospital : contstant, odd temperature

- access to tea all the time

- some patients are nice

- some nurses are fun and nice

- there is wifi! Usually! Until it self destructs

- i have read half a book

- no one expects u to wear complete, matching outfits. Half pj half casual? Fine.

- the dr visits and he wears a suit and u can speculate which tie he will wear. he differentiates himself with colorful socks.

- sometimes, i can see parts of the sky, from certain parts of the ward.

You seem in a better place. Looking for positives. @EternalFlower Good to hear from you.

Ha ha ... re doctor sox ... I had one who loved his gimmicky sox.

My plumbing is almost done. Walls put back, plaster, painting and vanity installed. The job was signed off last week Yay! but there is a small leak Boo!

I am told they will check it out. Waiting.

I was a bit vulnerable but not taking prn atm. Making decisions about my health team and care rather than going for the extra pill.

I have a counsellor I am seeing on Monday which will probably be my last time. Too many big blunders that leave me reeling for days/weeks. Found another. New one is face to face and a bit quirky. I will have to travel but not too far.

Hi @Appleblossom understand its hard to feel vulnerable. Sorry ur having a rough time. Hoping tomorrow is better but u don't have to put on a happy face here.

Glad it was sorted @RGB

Hospital still and got a discharge date today.

Hospital is

-quiet now.

-often loud

- a bit triggering, tbh

- stimulating even though you do literally nothing

- dull

- full of very loud people

- medical, but u forget sometimes

- brightly lit

- really warm

- exhausting

- demanding

- a break from home

- im glued to my phone

- fun, sometimes, as a distraction.

I find the nurses pretty good and the care decent. My dr thinks i dont want to go home and is discharging me soon. I feel like i am ok to go home.

Re: @Re: Trying makes it worse

Glad you are getting decent care @EternalFlower but hearing about the range of feelings/responses re being there.

Hey @RGB @Kyle1 @TAB @Zoe7

Sometimes when I am in helping out cheery mode, I find it difficult to express the other things. Not quite DID but I have had to keep my tears and vulnerable side under wraps as once I start crying it might take me a week to stop. Learning to express my strengths and weaknesses a bit together if people are responsive.

I am much better today. Was at a recording studio with a bunch of people I met earlier in year. I need activities to stretch me and my brain. Some of us had really good conversations and have planned to meet again for another singalong, which is great.

Hi @Appleblossom sounds messy and exciting re plumbing, is it looking ok? Hope so 🙏hello @TAB @RGB @Zoe7 @Oaktree @LeChuck @tonys @Owlunar @Bunniekins

I left my phone at therapy today so am writing on my iPad, and have to go pick it up.

I was suicidal over the last few days with poor sleep and lots of stress.

I am still seeing my dr but have a therapist now who I can find with ndis. I hope I can see both.

Otherwise I am a bit lost without my phone. Have been watching The Mindy Project. It is pretty silly but good moments. It is about 3 drs who work at a clinic where they deliver babies, and one of them is a single woman in her 3s obsessed with finding love. The other drs are quirky and funny and they all banter. There are othe funny characters in th office like a nurse who collects dogs and doesn't tell his bosses and seems to hide them around the office.

I am glad they have my phone but I have to go back and get it ...it is far away lol.

I get a bit anxious not having my phone but I guess I have the iPad so I can still cope.

How is ur house going? Did u have a table now? Hope it's one that looks 😍
