Living with my darling husband who has struggled with episodes of bipolar/depression for over 20 years. I often seem to be his trigger , now that the kids are grown. I'm sad and tired. But still hopeful. I love dogs, art and the beach.

Sigh, I hear you! My hubby has just been diagnosed bipolar and I can see now he’s not working he’s focusing on me as the cause of his issues. It’s heartbreaking. How do you cope?

Following because I also want to know how people cope. Hubby is experiencing bipolar and our whole world has flipped upside down but I’m the problem. 💔

Re: Welcome to the Friends, Family and Carers Group Hub! Introduce yourself here 🙂

Hi, I have a female friend about 50 years of age, with a recent diagnosis of paranoid disorder. She has been scheduled several times over the last four years. She prefers to keep to herself in many ways, but we meet up every month to catch up and we have developed a trust and enjoy each other's company.

Recently, the medical tribunal extended the scheduled medication for my friend for another six months. I noticed she has recently started to accept her mental health condition, perhaps reluctantly, but it is a noticeable shift.

She has reached out to me for a bit of help, so I am putting her into contact with another case worker, in order to get more things happening (outside of the exercise program she gets through NDIS, x5 times a week). She is not getting any other help or intervention.

I have a bit if understanding about my friends diagnosis as i worked as a social science researcher before i retired. My friend wants to find a support group, but I do not want to point her in the wrong direction.

If there is anyone out there with experience in relation to support groups for women with delusional disorders, please drop me a line and I can pass this info onin to my friend and she can get her case worker to help too.

Unfortunately my friends first language is not English. While she has an interpreter in more formal situations she doesn't get an interpreter for everything.... As mentioned im helping connect her with a case worker again, but i would like to know from anyone out there who might have experience supporting friends or family with this type of condition.

Many thanks

BeeBee
