Struggling

Struggling

Struggling at the moment.

I'm experiencing a combination of depression and anxiety bringing up all sorts of negative memories. Mistakes I made and opportunities I failed to take up.

It's making me feel unwell, jittery, hopeless, painfully uncomfortable and unable to rest.

I'm not even sure I will post this but at least it gives me something to focus on in the moment.

I know other people have real problems. When I look at my life objectively I feel like a fraud. I'm weak and lazy.

Like why can't I just start doing something meaningful to relieve the anxiety?

Every little thing seems too hard, too much for me to handle.

I'm overwhelmed.

I have so many excuses to NOT participate in everyday life.

Yes I have diagnoses but I also receive ongoing treatment for them.

I should be doing better.

Thankyou for your reply @FloatingFeather

I have edited my post so as not to cause further concern.

Re: Struggling

Hugs @RedHorse sitting with you. It's understandable to have trepidations and feel apprehension... breathe with it, make a cup of tea, occupy your hands if you can... rumination can be cruel. A few weeks ago I confronted my fears and some deep insecurities and went to a family wedding and I'm so glad I did.

Re: Struggling

Thanks for your reply @Dimity you make much sense.

Only last night I was excited and feeling more positive about being forced out of my comfort zone.

I appreciate you sitting with me.

I know it will all be worth it once I catch sight of my daughter's face.

Take care,

Re: Struggling

It will absolutely be worth it @RedHorse .

Can you catch up with your care team before you go?

Re: Struggling

I've got a telehealth appointment with my psychologist next week and fortnightly thereafter @Dimity, so two scheduled appointments before I go.

I also hope you follow up a new MH plan with your GP.

Take care,

Re: Struggling

Hi @RedHorse just saw your post hope your managing. I think you mentioned you are in nsw ? And you have to get to Western Australia? That’s a big ask in my opinion . Are there any alternative ideas to meet her?

I understand fragile and pathetic and wanting to impress and trying hard . It’s hard work for us .

Re: Struggling

Hi @Dimity and @perspective

Thanks for checking in.

I've put myself to bed after travel arrangements have been made in my typical avoidant style.

I've started a list as @perspective suggested but have wasted the week stressing over what needs to be done.

Living off grid in a caravan makes some things more difficult to plan and arrange. Still I've committed myself (and am actually excited underneath the anxiety) to going and just have to focus on self care and personal preparation, as well as getting into town and purchasing some neccassary items like clothing and such.

Sigh, the past several months of depression, isolation and inactivity means that I have set myself up for an extreme challenge.

I hope you are both doing okay.

Take care,

RedHorse 🌹🐴
