Re: Guilt and Fear
I am ok @Hamburger
Tort my kid to kik a ball .. but never really had the cash or interest to pay for a game.
There are soup vans that help with sanger and mug of soup ... gotta gradually get finacial s++t together. I was a charity kid but never a charity teen. Took my kid on the soup vans so he could see and help that part of the world.
Have visited acute wards quite a few times throughout my life and been troubled by the manner in which anger was handled. Usually it was re somebody that I had nothing to do with ..I was just a disinterested bystander ... but I usually had no trouble in talking to angry people totally off their head and they would settle ... so i REALLY (MODS THIS IS IMPORTANT) do not understand the rapid escalations in the mhu.
Eg what just happened to the Aboriginal artist and fisherman Wayne Morrison. I thought conflict resolution skills were trotted out by RTOs all over the place ..
Why arent the ward staff taught better skills?
I am not into swearing .. but when I was a teen .. everyone did it .. it is a socio-cultural phenomenon. I really thought Australians did not know any other language .. I read books to learn English ... talking to people didnt help .. lol
I see you like chatting .. hope you get food figured out soon tho.![]()

Re: Guilt and Fear
lol MHU are one place I've learnt to avoid like the plague! I've been lied to & tricked by staff, threatened with seclusion and/or being tied to the bed for wanting a smoke after 8pm (20 years ago when it wasnt so bad to smoke!), "accidentally" locked in my room for half a day (the nurse said she didnt see me lying on my bed), misdiagnosed. If you get upset or frustrated they all crowd around to watch the show. And then there was the psychiatrist who just kept repeating everything I said ...
How are you?
Good.
What do you mean by good?
I'm okay.
What do you mean by I'm okay
I'm fine
What do you mean by I'm fine
.... and on it went until I walked out in disgust.
I have zero faith in mental health "professionals".

I know all too well what you're saying about HDU and solitary cells! Been in both far too often but sometimes it's necessary.
Professionals can help you heaps. ... but if you don't give them descriptive details to work with. ... well they just have to keep asking questions. Sure it can take some time to open up properly and tell them all the nitty gritty details but once you've done that it can be a very different sort of appointment.
That's what I've found anyway.
Perhaps the next challenge for you is to work out what else you could have said. If you go through what you wrote about the psychiatrist maybe you can work out more detailed answers to the questions.
How about you give it a go.
Have a fabulous day! 🙊🙉🙈
