Sad News

I have just received the sad news that a long-time on-line friend of my has died in the United States in the last few hours

He was about my age - had had suffered terribly from chronic pain for all the time I knew him - and he has had a series of strokes and died after the last one - apparently - from the little I know so far

At least he will be out of his suffering - and I am glad for that - but sorry still - it always hurts us when someone we care about has to pass on

Re: Sad News

Thanks @pip

The forum I used to post in has published an address of a Foundation - as I know nothing at all about the Foundation I don't intend to send any money - but I will send a card letting his family know how highly I held him in my thoughts -

I will never return to that website - I am listed as a prior member there - I gave so much of my time and energy - really loyal - but things were going sour when I found another forum - this one - and eventually formally resigned and it was most unpleasant

However my friend didn't want me to leave - and we continued mail until he became unwell - and this happened very quickly -

I am still feeling rather low - and this is my way of really feeling sorrow for a friend - a lot of minutes have been spent in silence too - so that is attended too

Re: Sad News

Hi @Decadian. I'm so sorry things went so bad for you on that forum. I had a similar problem with another forum I was involved with, which is how I met my special friend & 'soul mate'. I think the hardest part is knowing you will never hear from him again. Try to remember his words of help and guidance whenever things get real tough for you. I'm having problems with a neighbour who has a drink problem, My 'soul mate' has been incredibly supportive and just knowing he is there has been fantastic for me. I mentioned about your loss to him and he (although he doesn't know you) sent his condolences too. It brought it home to us how precious and fragile friendship, love and complete trust is. Your friend's passing has left a gap in your life and remembering him will be difficult, but to reflect on how much you gave each other will help you through these sad times.
