The magic of tidying

The magic of tidying

Decluttering and minimising. Taking control of house and garden, nurturing body and soul. I've read Marie Kondo and read a little on a related Swedish method and feel inspired. I've been a borderline hoarder and lived with depression for too long and want to take the initiative. Has anyone done this? Or is there anyone who'd like to try with me?

I've sorted my books and uni notes. I've decided to sell some furniture when lockdown lifts. But the other papers and STUFF in the house and the jungle outside have me beaten atm. Some mutual encouragement and support is the only thing that's going to get me through. I know I'll have to face some decisions like "will I ever use that fabric stash" or "how many books in the TBR ,pile is too many" or "where do I start in the kitchen". Boxing isn't the answer, it was a temporary reprieve.

It's going to be a contest between my commitment to getting sorted and the looming possibility of having to move and downsize for my health. Having control of my space will be a win in either the old space or a new one.

Setting goals. Celebrating achievements. Sharing life hacks. Is anyone on board?

Dimity.

You got a lot done today @TAB I'm about to toss out recyclables and kitchen skip then organise a pot of lettuce and cucumber soup for tonight to use up whats left in my crisper. Get produce delivered tomorrow. I only spent $50 this week. Will have to blanche a stack of vegies to freeze for next week so no food waste. Will do that tomorrow

Re: The magic of tidying

$50 is good. when I had less money , I used to keep wheatbix and noodles for when no money. I still sometimes try and go a day without spending a cent. easiest way to do that is stay home or leave wallet at home lol @Former-Member

Re: The magic of tidying

Just tossed out recyclables and kitchen skip @TAB. My recyclables bin is now full. I don't know if it gets recycled with my council but tossed it out anyway. Changed some dimmer lightbulbs so I now have light in my living room. Did an audit of my fridge and threw out stuff. Got plenty of vegetables to blanche tomorrow. Will go for another walk soon. We've done great today! I'm going to make a soup afterwards. Hope you have a relaxing afternoon TAB! ❤️

Re: The magic of tidying

Thats good @TAB always a nice idea to do an audit of the fridge and have a cleanout! I've just been going through my address book and have been entering a new logbook this afternoon. I feel like I have order at last. Now got to organise some dinner. You will love your juicer. I've certainly broken the camels back with the things I achieved today. Tomorrow is more housework.

Re: The magic of tidying

Thats good @TAB you will get lots out of your juicer. I used to do celery juice as it doesn't spike blood sugar. Celery juice on its own has powerful healing properties. It was a bit of a craze the past 10 years on the internet the celery juice movement. BTW I wonder whats happened to @Judi9877, thought of her and have not seen her online at all

.that was a while ago hey @Former-Member re @Judi9877 there was another popular contributor who disappeared years ago, i searched their name a few times, turns out they had become a peer worker (saw that thru flaw in system)

I just checked @Judi9877 's profile and if you click on her latest post it goes through to @Appleblossom's posts. Theyres something wrong with the system. Maybe mention it to admin?
