Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

Walking for Wellness and Healthy Habits

  • So I took part in Topic Tuesday this evening on Physical Activity for Mental Health. I feel motivated so I am going to give up my couch potato ways and start to make an effort to get outside to walk for exercise. I am hoping that I will improve my mental health whilst losing weight and increasing fitness. I am going to keep you updated about my progress here. Feel free to join in - the more the merrier! Maybe we can help motivate each other.

Re: Walking for Wellness

Whatever works @Former-Member! I have seen many walkers with those light weights! I did think of buying some but will just stick with resistance bands for now.

I walked twice today. So its a total of 40 minutes which is an achievement. I will keep trying to walk twice a day wherever possible and yes it was humid out there.

Thats good about the pain subsiding. You will notice with earthing your pain quotient will also go down! Earthing is great for pain.

I'm not that nimble on my feet due to CFS and fatigue but will build up my fitness. Have had no exercise for so long. But since diabetes have been exercising almost every day since November which is amazing for me.

I don't know if it was you or Dimity that recommended the you tube "walking challenge' videos. I checked them out last week and saw some exercise routines I can do for 20 minutes indoors. It will be good for inclement weather.

Hi Everyone @Dimity @Oaktree @TAB

Went on a walk in a new, huge park for several hours yesterday. The weather was glorious and it was great to go over new ground. Very happy with distance and kilometres per hour. All ages were represented in the group.

This weekend will see a full days walk again in a new setting. Will keep you posted.

Thinking of you all.

Re: Walking for Wellness

I just got back from my walk. Went first thing this morning as it’s my birthday today so I won’t get time this afternoon as I am having a little party with my son and his girlfriend. Tonight I am having Freddo Frog icecream cake. I have had icecream cake every year for my birthday for as long as I can remember. It’s my little tradition! Glad to have gotten my walk in today.
