Share a cuppa?

Share a cuppa?

I've just made myself a cuppa and would love a friend if anyone is around?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Paulette thanks for your awesome listening skills again. You are so right, important to keep working on our throat chakras for means of expression and setting boundaries. I also think it's possible and necessary to do in a kindly way as two wrongs don't necessarily make a right.

When you sit with your cuppa, let me know what you think 😊. You have a nice evening too.

Hi @Former-Member ,

  • I totally agree two wrongs don't make a right. Your words are so wise. I will need a great deal of serenity on Tuesday as the individual that made the call will be meeting with me. I believe being assertive but not aggressive is the best way. I have often remained silent when I should have been more assertive in the past. I truly hope that I will be strong enough to cope diplomatically with the individual. This definitely is going to require my intuition.

Hi @Former-Member I saw your message. It's good to hear you had a good night, I also enjoy dressing well. I usually dress in suit and tie for church, but today was so cold here in Sydney I needed the layers of wool. I need to buy a duffle coat. Church went well, most people stayed home and were on zoom, and our liturgist was sick so I was cantoring and sharing liturgy duties...and afterwards we had Lectio Divina which I always enjoy. Today's was the story of Jesus healing the ten lepers, and how they responded, which I felt was in a very human way, as Jesus's response was also very human.

Hi @Abner my apologies for not getting back to you last night.

Thanks for your message.

Even though I don't go to church anymore I too like the story of Jesus healing the lepers. I think we can learn a lot about humanity in reading the Bible.

I am pleased you had a good Sunday and Church service with a lot of active involvement.

I hope Sydney is a bit warmer today. It's sunny but still quite brisk unless in the sun in Melbourne today. I hope you enjoy your day 😊.

Re: Share a cuppa?

I also like the bit where having been healed, nine of of the lepers go "Thanks, mate." and then walk off, and there's only one left singing praises...and Jesus says "Hang on, where are they going? Come back! You think miracles grow on trees?!...ungrateful!" The whole story is VERY human.
I likened it to our minister who often gives traumatised people who are in financial distress food vouchers that he buys specifically for that purpose...and in their traumatised state it's common for them do the same as the lepers and forget to be grateful, because the lepers are also used to living in a traumatised state of mind, in which it's difficult to think of the things we can be grateful for. Jesus saying what he said reminds us that sometimes we can give and give and give, and then without acknowledgement we find ourselves with nothing left. I do however like rhe humour.

Re: Share a cuppa?

I do like your insight @Abner.

Trauma and I guess starvation do take away some people's humanity and ability to be grateful. Sounds like your pastor is also very generous and understanding.

He is. I told him he has a natural gift for ministry, and he's very committed to environmental issues, the indigenous communities, asylum seekers, the LGBTQI community, mental health community, and the substance addiction community. There are lots of people in our church who have great values, convictioms, and integrity.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Love to before my workout, and trumpet and trombone practice. I've got a silent brass system and headset I'm using tonight, none of my neighbours will ever know sometimes I practise at midnight.
