Share a cuppa?

I've just made myself a cuppa and would love a friend if anyone is around?

Re: Share a cuppa?

I mostly work out at home, I've got a rowing machine, an exercise bike and gym mats I use for floor exercises. I also just have a flex punching bag for boxing workouts, gloves and jump ropes, and dumbbell kettlebell and barbell bar and weights, as well as a home gym. I find exercise really helps with the cptsd. Do you work out. What exercise do you like to do?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Abner I like to work out too. I like to swim and usually swim everyday, also good for my costs. However haven't been going as of late - trying to get over tiredness associated with recovering from Covid.

You are inspiring though. May try to get back into it tomorrow.

I'd like to learn to swim better, I'm not a strong swimmer, and would like to go rowing on the open water and snorkelling. Do you swim at the pool or in the open water @Former-Member?

Re: Share a cuppa?

I swim at the pool @Abner.

I also really enjoy kayaking but don't have my own and only get to do a couple of times a year.

I do also love swimming in rivers and the ocean. But only when warm enough.

Yes, this weather's not very good for open water swimming right now, the oceans and rivers are too choppy and cold, although salt water swimming might be a bit better than freshwater swimming in these conditions. Is there a pool near you @Former-Member? Kayaking is also something I'd love to do as my eowing's getting stronger.

I am really lucky @Abner the pool I visit is 10 minutes away and is one of the best swim centre's in Victoria.

You are so right been too cold 🥶 for open water swimming.

What do you like to do outdoors?

Re: Share a cuppa?

I go for walks, I go for jogs, sometimes I take my agility ladder and my trumpet and music with me and go to the outdoor workout parks - there are three within 10 minutes walking distance - I'll do a workout, then have a coffee and sandwich (which I've usually bought from the shop - like their oat milk iced coffee, and they do great chiii pork rolls) and practise my trumpet. Sometimes I do outdoor workouts with friends like my friends Julian and Dan and Karla from the orchestra, Dan's a clarinetist and Karla is a French hornist. Julian doesn't play any instruments but loves listening. Or I go for a jog with Alan from Collwgium Musicum. He's a first bass singer who would love to be second bass (wouldn't we all?!). I'm a first bass singer too, who has an unusually strong high baritone range as well - lucky that! So I do a fair bit outdoors. Do you do indoor and stretching exercises @Former-Member?

Re: Share a cuppa?

Yes I certainly do @Abner I do yoga nearly every day and regular back exercises given to me by my exercise physiologist.

Off to bed for me Abner. Nice talking to you. Hopefully speak again soon. Enjoy your trumpet practice later tonight.

How do you find the yoga @Former-Member? I do back and shoulder workouts, but my friend Norrie recommends yoga because my boxing instructor and my singing coach both say I have slightly hunched shoulders that need correcting to assist my breathing. You'd be surprised how much similarity there is between boxing and singing.

Re: Share a cuppa?

Good morning @Paulette, @Former-Member, @tyme, @ArraDreaming, @Shaz51, @NatureLover, et al, I hope you all have a great day. I've just had porridge and black coffee as I've run out of milk, and have done some cleaning, and now about to practise. I'm looking forward to rehearsal this afternoon and tomorrow morning I'm buying another suit which I shall wear for a concert on Saturday. I also have a rehearsal of Collegium Musicum tomorrow afternoon.
