Hi @Bow

I did use the forums a little last year I think. But, yeah, basically new here. I'm going through ups and downs. Which leads to what other people experience I think. Loss of friends, lack of personal hygiene, isolation and for me some paranoia.

Well @Ugly_Trout Welcome back then 🙂

Thanks @Bow .

I kind of unwillingly have my parents coming over today. Not completely unwillingly but I like to keep them out of my mental health. They're 70 and they don't need the stress. But I can't help how i have told them on the phone I'm struggling. If you know what I mean? Mixed emotions of trying to hide and trying to show them I'm better than I am.

I understand @Ugly_Trout its hard to keep our parents out when they care. My folks live with us, so no hiding my mh battles from them, but I do keep things to myself and my support team. But it’s rough.

@Bow We are close. So they know some of it, it's hard to hide it. Especially when I feel no control of phone calls I make etc. I just try to put them at ease when I see them. I am fortunate I know to still have my parents in my life. So I can't whinge about it. Their love is all that keeps me going sometimes. It probably is the only thing that keeps me going.

Hi @Former-Member ,

How are you? I hope your day has been kind to you. Oh my I have just received an extremely aggressive phone call from shall we say an acquaintance, who due to their aggression I keep an exceptional distance from. The extreme rudeness, disrespect and obscenity directed at me removed all of the tranquility I've tried hard to cultivate. Even though this was a phone call the anger and hate directed at me by this individual, who I even tried to help was.....breathtaking. sorry about the negativity. I just felt like all of her anger and negativity suddenly was inherited unwillingly by me. I am proud that I did complain about the verbal aggression and abuse. I was proud that I set boundaries in the failure to accept it and possibly ruminate over it. It unfortunately hasn't been the best day in terms of being the receptacle used for someone else's anger. Bought up lots of issues and emotions for me. My self esteem plummeted again. Sad too, noting how many angry people in this world and myself trying so hard to shelter from it is.....so hard. I have come out with a positive in showing no tolerance. Thankyou @Maggie and everyone else on here for simply supporting listening and offering advice without judgement. Now so feeling the need for a rich hot chocolate with a raspberry marshmallow. The anger makes me more determined to show some love and compassion. I hope this might encourage anyone else who fears aggression to gain some strength and courage which this distressing situation has given me. Hugs to all.

Hi @Paulette so sorry to hear of your horrible phone call. I received one of them from someone I called a very close friends a few months ago and I'm still spun out by it. A tirade of texts followed too.

It's not nice when people are abusive. It's always good to vent though. I'm hearing you loud and clear.

Wishing you a good rest of the day. I've just got in from work..

Hopefully chat again later. Let me know when you have that hot chocolate and what you've done to restore your tranquility

💜💕💜

Re: Share a cuppa?

Hi @Former-Member ,

I'm so sorry to hear you too when through similar abuse. I was trying to reply to you but I received a call as I was typing. Thankyou for your quick reply, you do always have a calming affect on my anxiety. I kind of fell silent as I received a torrent of abuse myself. I was frustrated that my recent efforts to meditate, practice mindfulness and self care were not of immediate use. I must admit the self care came later as I was determined to complain about the behaviour and not ruminate as I often do. I did set limits and I felt I learnt by doing so. I truly don't want to feel anyone on here is too fearful to set limits. The thought used to terrify me but honestly the abuser walks away without consequences unless we do free our throat chakra and listen to intuition. My intuition spoke loudly and firmly and with a sad little sigh that I may not have spoken out. I do hope you can practice some self care and relax after work. I look forward to hot chocolate with raspberry marshmallow later. Have a nice night.
