Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Hi guys I am new here but just skipped over introducing myself and threw myself straight into the forums so let's rewind a minute.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder in 1990. It changed my life and not in a good way. My mother said "now you will never do anything with your life" and my Aunt said "we should put her in an institution". It was right then that I decided that I would live the best life I possibly could with this illness. I since met and married my husband and we had 3 gorgeous children who have all now reached adulthood. I have been in and out of hospital a lot since around 2008 and somewhere along the way had BPD added to my diagnosis. I enjoy art and crafts, playing computer games and watching tv. I was working with a psychologist and we were going to work on childhood trauma as I grew up in an abusive household but I kept getting sick so we are currently on a break. Not sure if I want to go back to therapy at this point in time. Not sure what else to add so I will just leave it here. Feel free to ask questions x

Go out back and see cook, she’ll give you a fresh steak or two.

Now as for the entertainment, you may have noticed that we have an old piano in the corner. However, Hank the piano player lost in a duel 3 nights ago so now we are making do with cards.

As for all the money, @tonys gambles it away. He may cheat but he still doesn’t win. Did I mention that he drinks. You may find hidden treasure in a cave somewhere but it’s not too likely.

Where is everybody?
The morning light is here and it’s all quiet on the western front! I can hear the sound of the rats under the floorboards.
Oh here comes a stranger.

Howdy Mister, you are now deputy Sheriff just till our real Sheriff gets back. Your first job is to find @tonys . He’s been up to no good again. But be careful he’s gone and got himself a lioness as protection, @Sophia1 . The lioness has been prowlng throughout the night and now she lies sleeping in the saloon! Cook has been offering her tid bits of steak so she won’t eat the customers. Last nights glasses lay strewn around the saloon. What has Meggle the waitress been up to? She hasn’t done her job cleaning up. Look here she comes now, dressed in another purple corset. Purple is her favourite colour. Hey Meggle, you had better start cleaning up this hell hole. A few drunks still lay sleeping on the tables in the corners. Ok, ok she says! I have been getting my beauty sleep. No rest for the wicked!

@tonys

Got my farmer on again. I got hubby to help me build a large metal garden bed. Didn’t realise that it was going to be so large though. Blooming thing holds 729 Litres. Gonna cost me a fortune for the soil to put in it. Not sure where I am going to put it yet. Gonna get some weed mat to put under it. Might look into getting a delivery of soil. I am excited for spring to come so that I can grow my tomatoes. Have about 5 months to wait… ho hum!
Talking about chocolate and cavities, I think I need to see the dentist. I think a tiny bit of my tooth fell out the other night. Might need a filling. Now when I eat chocolate it hurts a bit. Give me another whiskey- she’ll be right mate!

@Sophia1 and @LeChuck

How are you guys today?

Today started out sunny but it’s raining now. Glad I am safely inside with a jacket on. Bit worried about my seeds outside. Hope that the rain doesn’t get too heavy and move them all around in their tub.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

Re: Introduction

@Oaktree Well . . . If you fire up that big iron tub, . . I'll have to close my doors. competition eh.

Actually Meggle, you have to make sure you have good drainage. Soil tends to pack tight in containers. We get composts that they make at the tip. A ute load of that is not to dear.

Fine pine bark is the best. Its cured and last for a while in the pot. but since the fires, good potting mixes like Searles professional grade are hard to find. A cheap potting mix can be improved by adding soaked coco peat, and fine or medium grade vermiculite. Well rotted cow poo in the top six inches, . . and stand back. If you start things in small pots on the side, so you keep the garden full. Then it will soon pay for itself. happy farming. . .

@Sophia1 Is a keen gardener too. So I recon she will chuck her 2 bits on the bar.

Hey Sophia, If you can tag me from the thread your on next week, would be good.

I forgot how to find it without answering a post. Hope you are well my friend. Talk soon.

Lioness, @Former-Member is leaving us all. He started that thread of his which was so good, till well you remember. . . sad day for me, well , for us all really. Look forward to hearing from you Sophia.
