Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Introduction

Hi guys I am new here but just skipped over introducing myself and threw myself straight into the forums so let's rewind a minute.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder in 1990. It changed my life and not in a good way. My mother said "now you will never do anything with your life" and my Aunt said "we should put her in an institution". It was right then that I decided that I would live the best life I possibly could with this illness. I since met and married my husband and we had 3 gorgeous children who have all now reached adulthood. I have been in and out of hospital a lot since around 2008 and somewhere along the way had BPD added to my diagnosis. I enjoy art and crafts, playing computer games and watching tv. I was working with a psychologist and we were going to work on childhood trauma as I grew up in an abusive household but I kept getting sick so we are currently on a break. Not sure if I want to go back to therapy at this point in time. Not sure what else to add so I will just leave it here. Feel free to ask questions x

Re: Introduction

Hello @Oaktree

I'm catching up. Sorry not to have responded sooner. Just trying to balance myself out at the moment. I believe that tomorrow I should be more communicative. Trouble with my phone dropping out, and not being able to contact ECU. They have sent me an email responding to my initial enquiry, so, hopefully, tomorrow I'll make some progress. Something of a headache today. Had the booster last Friday, trouble walking Saturday, which I later thought may have been a 'booster' response. And not feeling so flash since. Not the clear problems that I had before for two days, headache, soreness of vaccination site and something else. Rather a generalised unbalance and feeling off.

Hope tomorrow will be a better day. Will write then and hopefully be feeling more responsive.

Thank you for your updates on what is happening for you. You will be aware from supports that I have seen and read your notes.

For Now

Best Wishes

Hi @Oaktree

Got my application in and received acknowledgement and receipt. However, have not heard yet whether accepted or more information required.

Hope everything going alright for you and family.

Have been feeling a little 'off' during the last couple of days. Hoping for and working toward improvement.

Look forward to being more communicative in the next day or so.

With Care and Best Wishes

Oh dear @HenryX

I wonder if it’s a reaction to your vaccination that’s making you feel a bit under the weather? I hope that you start to feel better soon. Please let me know the result of your application. Very exciting times!

Hello @Oaktree

Thank you for your care and concern. I really hadn't thought of the vaccination contributing to the way that I have been feeling, however, it is certainly a possibility to be considered.

No response yet to application. I will certainly let you know when I receive any communication.

With Best Wishes

Re: Introduction

Hi @HenryX

How are you doing? I really hope that you are feeling a lot better by now. I am well which I am grateful for. I have been feeling quite stable lately which is great! Things are going well for me. University starts this Monday. I just have one lecture on Monday but I will be quite busy with a full day on Wednesday. I don’t have a lab this first week but I will have a lecture followed by a two hour break and then a 2 hour Spanish language class. I went to quite a few orientation week activities so I am starting to get to know my way around campus. I definitely know where my two psychology lectures are being held. It’s a big campus though. I hope that I can make a couple of friends along the way. I have downloaded babbel and am just trying it out for a month. It was recommended by my lecturer. So I have been trying to keep my streak going on Duolingo as well as using Babbel. So my participation level in Duolingo has been affected.

Anyway I hope that you are doing well,

Meggle

Hello @Oaktree

Thank you for your contact and asking how I am going.

At the moment I am at a bit of a flat spot. Not feeling the best and just trying to work my way "through the maze".

With an adjustment to medication, I hope that I will be able to recover ground reasonably quickly.

Hoping that you and your family are well.

With Best Wishes

@HenryX
