Welcome and getting started

Introduction

Introduction

Hi guys I am new here but just skipped over introducing myself and threw myself straight into the forums so let's rewind a minute.

I was diagnosed with Bipolar Affective Disorder in 1990. It changed my life and not in a good way. My mother said "now you will never do anything with your life" and my Aunt said "we should put her in an institution". It was right then that I decided that I would live the best life I possibly could with this illness. I since met and married my husband and we had 3 gorgeous children who have all now reached adulthood. I have been in and out of hospital a lot since around 2008 and somewhere along the way had BPD added to my diagnosis. I enjoy art and crafts, playing computer games and watching tv. I was working with a psychologist and we were going to work on childhood trauma as I grew up in an abusive household but I kept getting sick so we are currently on a break. Not sure if I want to go back to therapy at this point in time. Not sure what else to add so I will just leave it here. Feel free to ask questions x

Re: Introduction

I'm sorry @tonys. Sometimes I get stressed and I try to find my words but they won't come. The last I wanted to do is be unkind or hurt you by not getting back. You're such a kind soul with a perspective on life that brings me joy and makes me a better person, you deserve better. When life gets hard I can't keep up with all the things I know I'm meant to do or want to do. Lord knows I know it gets hard for everyone and they manage it better than me. But the social anxiety and the drink get me and I shut down, stop looking at emails, stop talking. I don't mean to rekindle the thread and disappear. I start to wonder and worry about you guys so I come back, I never realised you guys would be hurt by me going away like that Xx

I think this one is a bit what it's like sometimes. Trying to get all the things done and be an adult and doing good on some fronts but just not managing on others

Re: Introduction

My counsellor gave me some questions to help me try and make better life choices.

Does this move me towards or away from the person I want to be?

Is this moving me closer to or further from the life I hope for myself?

I think maybe for a while I've prioritised the second at the expense of the first, when it should have been the other way around.

Hi guys,

Tonys I was reading your posts and I loved them but didn’t know how to pick up your story to run with. Sometimes understanding your story is my problem. You have a different way of writing. I am so glad that the half human/half machine Sheriff is not dead. I am attached to our @LeChuck . What of the cowboys riding into to town to stand up to Tonys Twoguns? Will there be a shootout in the streets? These are questions unanswered! I am glad that this thread has revived. It is what I had hopef for. I know we are all at various stages of wellness and sometimes that makes things tricky. I hope you will all continue to feel safe to leave stories here. After all it is far preferable to real life and such drama.
Speaking of real life, I adopted a cat yesterday from the RSPCA. She is 9years old. We thought we’d give an old girl a home. We are getting older ourselves so we felt attuned to her. She has settled in marvellously and is currently asleep on the couch. She never hid when we brought her home or anything. She is very relaxed and comfortable. We bought her a climbing post thing but she is not interested. She loves the jellies I bought her to eat. She has to just have wet food today because she had a dental surgery but we will be able to give her biscuits from tomorrow as well. She is a lovely cat and we have named her Marmalade. She is multicoloured, ginger, black, grey etc very pretty.

Anyway that is my exciting news! I have a new baby in the house, even if she is 9years old.

Re: Introduction

@LeChuck mate you are being too hard on yourself.

You might think people are coping and adulting. But we’re not, every single one of us is struggling with something.

Some old crone at the Women’s Shed today said to me “and what are you bringing for the hamper?”.
I said “my personality”.

I’m setting up their market 3x3 and making an outdoor chandelier. 3 woodworking projects on the go. Got to apply for a job. Email a lawyer and I haven’t been to the gym in a week. She can bite me.

What I’m trying to say LeC’ is, no one has their sh!t together. We’re just hoping to have another go tomorrow.

Stay with us mate. The sun will come up tomorrow.

Awwww @LeChuck..... Mate, You could never hurt old tonys. I put .. Lol.. at the end of the post because I was genuinely laughing, and I'm so very sorry If you took me seriously.

I'm going to call it and say this ones my fault. See my beautiful friend, Of my many flaws, and , one that is often out of control is my opaque n dark imagination. Couple that with a mind that takes almost nothing seriously, and turn it loose on a mental health forum, and sooner or later there's going to be a trail of broken crockery, trampled laundry, n feelings. I'm afraid I'm a mischievous , ferral ol fartt wraped in a flea bitten hide and you must . . . . never take anything I say to heart.

Your a kind soft person, I can see that, and I guess when the clouds role in on you, there's nothing worse than feeling obligated.

Well guess what. You never have to " report in" . Its meant to be fun, and you can't play when its raining on you hey..

You have the roller coaster bug,. . . and me. . . Well part of my condition is, I get too happy n play up.

Thats why I liked this thread.. Almost no rules. So . were play mates. This is where we play up.

The no rule school, n one of the rules is. . . . well there arn't any. No role call. Wag school whenever you want mate. Obviously well miss you.. Its our right to, specially me.

But you have to take time to evaluate your feelings and chill when your crook mate... Ive always understood that.

🙂 💐

We cool.. Now. Wouldn't matter how many slugs I put in you, I'll just keep slapping patches on you, pump you up, say some magic words n start chasing you all over again.

So One thing thats non negotiable is . . . . You aint dead...!

Come on, Chuck .. little smile for tonys.. Well I'm going to Tub in the sheep dip, quick , short back n

sides with the chainsaw, machete shave, n gasoline after shave, and then

I'm gunna chase ya all over town for a great big cuddle..

Hope every ones crucifying marsh mellows. @Oaktree @Glisten @Sophia1

@Glisten Bloody thirsty county cowboys... OH MY... I sound like a hardware store in an earthquake.! Exciting ! fillings rattling, bullets rattling, Horse rattling.. Rattle snake with teeth in

horses leg . . . . . Rattling.

Hang on a minut. Blood thirsty you say.. And so it happened. All tony2guns inbred relatives slowly emerge from the thundered up dust of a dozen pintos. Smell arrived half n hour before they did. Just enough time for the bible folk to, . . say there prayers, n hide upstairs.

By midday they were all good n liquored up n piddling in each others pockets, and wiping their porridge n bean fingers all over @Oaktree s pretty new curtains and rubbing her new cats fur the wrong way, you know, just to annoy it.

The town folks hired guns, turned out to be , non other than, T2guns gutter trash, missing link, neanderthal misfit mates.

But ... meantime , neither man nor machine @LeChuck was doing something unheard of.

Evolving. . . An amorphous ball of plasma energy swirling under the sheriffs sombrero lit up the wide eyed faces of the pilgrims. The second coming, aliens, No folks, listen up..

The first ever super hero of the west. . . . IiiiiittTTTs SUPPER CHUCK...

volunteer needed to take over .. at your leisure mind you... tony 2 guns
