Lockdown 4 - let’s get around each other

Lockdown 4 - let’s get around each other

Hey everyone, we are in LOCKDOWN again! And I hate it. I'm really over it like everyone else.
But, we can't control it, we can't tell the government that we don't like it and they'll stop the lockdown so let's do the best we can.
Why don't we use this thread to support each other.

So I'll start us off with three things I could do before the end of the day to fill in time. They can big or small. You can also do absolutely nothing which is fine too.

- Take our kids for 1 hour of exercise as a family

- Go for a run to fill up the rest of the allocated exercise time (and get my personal time in)

- Build Fort with biggest small human child (already done haha)

What can you do today?

How are you feeling about lockdown?

@ArraDreaming I am also a North Melbourne footy supporter,I can hear that a few of us had a slow start today and Im no exeption Ive had a habit of staying up later and getting up later slept in till lunch time today but then got up had a hot shower ate lunch washed some more clothes, made my Bed,Messaged a family member,Messaged family members lat night too but more due to personal problems, its not lockdown that gets me down as much as the other worries on my mind but again thats out of my control too so after tidying up the kitcken today Im sitting down with a bag of twisties and a can of softdrink to watch you geussed it more netflix, this time I think Ill watch an Alfred Hitchcock movie, something to distract myself from personal worries,Im trying to be busy getting more cleaning done than usual but also need to rest too, saying hello to all fellow lockdown friends hang in there we are technically halfway through this fingers crossed things can go back to normal soon

One thing my partner and I have tried to implement (and this isn’t for everyone and might work everyday) is making sure we all get up and get DRESSED, and kids dressed. Doesn’t have to be going out clothes but not staying in pjs, and then going out for a walk/family time. Once that’s done then It is whatever goes for the rest of the day . It helps for me.

@Shaz51 3 months now, little personality is starting to show a bit now, smiley little thing.
All going well though we did have a rough night last night with a 3 year old who decided bed time was a giant game who then set off the baby with making a racket, so, yeah.

Hi @ArraDreaming @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @LostAngel @WIP @Snowie and all forumites here. Thanks for starting this thread @ArraDreaming . Much appreciated! Glad to see how different forum members are handling lockdown 4.0.

As I'm in Melbourne, this lockdown has been different as I'm in a new rental - an actual house that isn't my sisters place- and in a slightly different area. Here where I am, we have lots of parkland and lakes and we have something like 5 supermarkets within 5kms of our place, including Woolworths, Aldi and Coles, so plenty of shops to get the precious toilet paper from😂! I'm surviving this lockdown by knitting beanies for charity - just completed 2 so far-, writing a poem or 2 and knitting in general of a blanket and jumper, again for charity. I've also been catching up on Facebook and watching TV in the form of the news, Home and Away and Big Brother. Being around and doing things with my housemate/ best friend has also been happening as she's stuck at home since Tafe has gone remote for her course. This lockdown has given me time to reflect on things and catch up on reading pleasure novels as well as explore different elements of mental health, such as peer work which I might like to do as a future career. Being on the forums also helps as I get to connect with others. I just have to work on my sleep routine as I've been spending way too many mornings in bed until 10-11 which isn't productive for my health in so many ways. When I do get up, I get dressed so that's a good sign I guess.

I see different forumites ordering pizza for dinner. Yum! I'm personally a lover of pepperoni and Hawaiian myself. I've also been catching on sports such as my Brisbane Lions and Melbourne Storm. The French Open starts tonight so go Ash Barty and Alex DiMinaur!

Time to go and get a hot drink since I'm getting cold. Stay safe and look after yourself in lockdown and in general for those not in lockdown. Remember, we're Victorians and we've been through this 3 times before. We can get through this again and co e out stronger as well. Also, this time it wasn't our fault- it was South Australia's who has troubles with their hotel quarantine system. Let's get through this together!

Re: Lockdown 4 - let’s get around each other

Sounds so great @Judi9877 !

So happy for you! You're definitely in a better place than the last lockdown.

I'm pacing myself and trying to stay afloat. It's been a real challenge because I have so much to do. I know that if I give in and start worrying about all my catch-up work I have to do, I'd absolutely sink. So for now, I'm just living hour by hour, and I'm staying afloat. It's really helping, considering I've got 2 uni assignments supposedly due in a week's time. I study online with an interstate uni which means they have limited understanding of the challenges locky-d's bring.

Besides that, I'm going to bed early tonight as part of self-care. I know I've got a long week ahead, hence this is a part of pacing myself so I don't get overwhelmed.

Take care folks,

We're in this together!
