Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

My daily achievements are actually over 4 days

•Talked to a work colleague for 1.5 hrs. Longest conversation I’ve had with anyone for weeks

•had the confidence to ask a new person, who looked like they were struggling, if they needed help.

•gave support to a former work

mates wife who is going through a hard time.
•chatted to a friend during dinner break last night.
•completed a full working block with out going home.

•actually enjoy last nights night shift.

Im a little bit proud of myself.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Well I have managed to get up and out of bed nearly every day since I posted here last. It's not really anything to crow about but it's where I'm at atm. Today I'm on the couch listening to the rain pour down outside; it's great weather for ducks...

Take care,

Well done @RedHorse. I'd been wondering how you are. Hope the rain eases soon.

Hi @Dimity and thanks for your support.

It's been a low couple of weeks but visiting the forum always gives me a bit of a lift.

Hope you and your feline friend are doing okay.

Take care,

Re: Daily Achievements!

Thanks @RedHorse the cat is fine - and very high maintenance! I'm OK too, things seem to be improving. I'm on a diet and exercise intervention. My mood is better and I'm trying to get more done. Early days yet, but I'm hopeful.

Re: Daily Achievements!

I've decided to spend less time on the computer and get tasks done around the house. I think dopamine is produced when you achieve things. I think with schizoaffective disorder dopamine is challenged. Anyway felt a lot better today. Cooked breakfast, had a shower, listened to health audio from Sapien Medicine on you tube, cleared out a room in the house for food storage, sat outside in sunshine as I have had disrupted sleep so need to get melatonin going at night, cooked lunch, had a siesta, cleared part of the bathroom, washed the kitchen sink and cleared the skip in the laundry. Well certainly got stuff done today!

Re: Daily Achievements!

Well done @Former-Member . I have the same theories re dopamine and trying to reduce screen time. Today I've done some cleaning, walked, gardened and got a lawnmowing quote. It's a work in progress but I'm doing way better than I had for months. The exercise might help endorphins too.

Cheers

Dimity

Re: Daily Achievements!

Thats good @Dimity sounds like you had a productive day you must feel very satisfied with that. While some info online is empowering I feel sitting in front of a computer somehow takes away capabilities for some reason. I feel less capable doing things. I heard from a traditional chinese medical doctor that you lose chi at your computer. So for now less time in front of it I think. And just focussing on doing things around the house and having a to-do list each day
