Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hello All

I haven't done anything I had planned for today. Not. One. Thing.

I've been struggling with a lack of motivation the past few days and have barely managed to get out of bed.

I just got a text reminder from my GP that I have my second vaccine shot tomorrow afternoon.

Although I'm stressing about getting up, ready and into town it's probably a good thing to have a purpose for tomorrow - or so I'm telling myself - and I can pick up a few things I forgot on Saturday.

Take care,
RedHorse 🌹🐴

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hi @Judi9877

Some good achievements there.

I have achieved some things today but mostly relaxed as having a break from uni.

I watched home and away and now MAFS.

Hope today has been good for you 🙂

Re: Daily Achievements!

I'm on my phone @TAB and have been experiencing repeated operator error.

I just wanted to say that you couldn't help injuring your knee, your Dad being unwell or the COVID restrictions being put in place.

As to getting out to the supermarket, if you have food in the house, whenever you get out will be soon enough. If you don't have what you need then it is a bit of a problem lol

Good evening @RedHorse @TAB @pinklollipop15 @Meowmy @MDT @Shaz51 @Eve7 @Dimity @Aniela @Codex1 @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @tyme @Former-Member @cloudcore and all forumites here. Well done on all of your achievements everyone. I’m so proud of you!

@Shaz51 i hope you feel better soon!

@RedHorse @TAB I can understand your motivation issues at the moment with getting things done. I’ve also been struggling lately with this and it’s gotten worse since restrictions have been operating in Melbourne over the past 2 years with me struggling to leave the house at times. I’ve now decided to work with this as of tonight by listing things down that I can do at home (I’ve quit on campus Tafe and have applied to do the mental health course online but won’t find out if I’ve been successful for at least another 3 weeks for the course to start in April) and trying to allocate time during each day to do those things so I don’t waste the day trying to sleep to fill in time. I call them mini goals with things like allocating time to knit my blanket and beanies for charity (for example an hour or 2 each day) to spending time here on the forums to reading a book that I told my psychologist about and which I have to have finished by the 18/3. Things like that to help pass the day and to have a routine of sorts. At least that’s the overarching goal of it all to help with my boredom during each day. I’ll keep you all posted as to how it goes!

Anyhow, today (Tuesday) I achieved the following things:

- I did some SANE community guide reading of an orientation booklet and posted on the allocated forum area

- I worked on my 12 ball blanket

- I wrote down a list of things I can do at home when I get bored

- I took meds

- I watched the 6pm news and Home and Away

- I listened to music on my iPhone

- I checked out my emails and sent an email to Tafe withdrawing officially from on campus classes

- I emailed my student counsellor about my next appointment time and date which was the wrong date and needed changing

- I updated my email address for my car registration

- I applied for a position for the federal election as a voting official for the day of the election (I’ve done the job before and it’s pretty good money for 1 day)

Take care!
