Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Re: Daily Achievements!

Well done @Judi9877 for all that you achieved. You are inspirational and give me hope so thank you 🙏

My day started off really well, perhaps it was you @Judi9877 and this thread that gave me the inspiration to "have a good day" and "get things done" - knowing that I was to "be accountable" gave me a drive to be productive.

I rose early to tidy the house which I achieved.

I have a lot of balls in the air and many projects with work, many balls came back to me yesterday so I was able to move them along or toss them back to the next person. I really was doing well...

Then came a unexpected phone call that sent me into a whirlpool of emotions, a conversation with SANE and my productivity ended there...

Today is a new day and I hope to have some positive achievements to tell you about tomorrow.

Hugs to you all 🤗

Especially you @Judi9877 because this space really is wonderful x

Hello @Anastasia , @Judi9877 , @NatureLover , @LostAngel , @TAB

@Anastasia, The way that you described your activity sounded really positive and connected. That is the part that was very good to 'hear'. I especially liked your reference to

"the inspiration to "have a good day" and "get things done" - knowing that I was to "be accountable" gave me a drive to be productive."

Every juggler drops the balls, clubs, pins or batons. It's only when they decide not to pick them up that they have lost the game.

"Today is a new day and I hope (plan) to have some positive achievements to tell you about tomorrow."

I hope that today has been special and tomorrow will be better.

With My Very Best Wishes

@HenryX

Re: Daily Achievements!

Well done @LostAngel you did very well!

Thank you dear@HenryX for your kind words. I appreciate you very much.

Whilst I did not achieve a lot today, I did get out of bed. I put make up on, did my hair and dressed to have dinner out with my son.

We had a lovely meal and now I'm home, pooped and ready almost for bed.

The reason why I hadn't posted my achievements prior to yesterday is because it's days like today where I haven't really achieved much, so in my mind it was like what do I have to write about...

On reflection though, it was a HUGE achievement today to drag myself out of bed and leave the house because I really just wanted to hide away today.

Again, @Judi9877 love this space, thank you ❣️

Good evening @Anastasia @HenryX @TAB @LostAngel @NatureLover @Shaz51 @frog @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @BPDSurvivor @cloudcore @TideisTurning @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @AussieRecharger @Snowie and all wonderful forumites! I'm so glad everyone is enjoying this thread and celebrating their achievements, no matter how big or small. That makes me feel very happy and proud to hear this news so thank you!

@Anastasia I really like how you're finding something to write here even though you admitted it often being difficult. Like I said in previous posts, it doesn't matter what the achievement is, as long as you did something that you're proud of. It could be as simple as waking up in the morning or even sitting down with a nice hot coffee or cold drink. It all counts as an achievement in my opinion!

For me, my achievements were:

- Having my psychologist appointment and coming away full of new thoughts and ideas

- Posting on Facebook

- Completing knitting a beanie for charity

- Learning the reasons (or potential reasons) why I self harm (to regain control when I feel like either things or myself are getting out of control)

- Going food shopping

- Drinking a bottle of Ice Coffee

- Having a warm shower to calm down when I was feeling anxious

- Listening to Taylor Swift's new version of her Red album and finding some new music on the album which I now really like listening to, especially the song 'Messsge in a Bottle'.

Keep on posting your great achievements forumites and remember that all things count, even if they seem small or mundane!

Iced coffee is so good @Judi9877 😸

Re: Daily Achievements!

Yes @TAB , iced coffe IS soooo good!

I wouldn't mind an iced mocha either!

This might sound a bit weird, but this morning, instead of noting down my past achievements, I'll note down what I WANT to achieve today:

- go and buy a loaf of bread this morning (haven't done this in yonks - haven't made the time to!)

- have a sit down brekkie

- go to church this morning

- do my planning and preparations for work tomorrow

- meet two clients this afternoon

- go for a walk

Ill see how far I get!
