Daily Achievements!

Daily Achievements!

Hi forum friends! I've decided to start a new thread on Daily Achievements because I suffer from depression as one of my mental illness and that means it's often hard for me to remind myself that I do actually things in my day, no matter how small they may be. I thought forumites could post here a daily achievement or 2 so we can remind ourselves that we have done something good each day. It can be as big or as small as you like. Just as long as what you did makes you proud and happy.

I'm tagging @roses @Bow @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @saltandpepper @Daisydreamer @Former-Member @Former-Member @Former-Member @TideisTurning @Former-Member @frog @Sans911 @outlander

in case you might be interested as well as anyone else who wants to join in!

So, to get this discussion started, I'll post my achievements today which are:

- I had a gorgeous cup of tea which helped me deal with some anxiety I was experiencing;

- I paid my car registration which was due today.

See what I mean about achievements? Mine may seem small or irrelevant to some people but to me, because I have depression, these are actually major in the scheme of my life. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Hi @BPDSurvivor

Sounds like a great day!

Glad to hear you are feeling satisied and accomplished 🙂

Today I:

completed an assignment

baked some cupcakes (vanilla) and put dark chocolate ganache on them with some coconut

walked to the park with my daughter, had morning tea and we got caught in the rain (oops!) but was lovely 🙂

watched a couple of movies on prime video and then watched the theory of everything.

chatted to my brother

ate dinner and dessert

soon going to have a shower and read a book

Hope you all had a great Sunday!

Hello @BlueBay

I enjoyed reading the details of what you had accomplished today. The process of having an outline of a plan and following through to completion is often very gratifying.

With My Best Wishes

Re: Daily Achievements!

Hi everyone,

I “Adopted” (they call it now), brought home a Kitten tonight (7.15pm).

A companion for Jelly Cat & myself of course.

It’s been a long process – All of last weekend, then all of this weekend as well.

Numerous contacts & follow-ups.

Last weekend I was “Pipped at the Post” & Beaten every time (several times) – Several Kittens & Cats were gone (Sold/ Adopted) before I even got there.

This weekend, when I contacted the Animal Rescue place (from Ad) – The lady was very friendly & helpful.

The contacts from last weekend (several), who I contacted again yesterday – Never replied.

Whereas this lady (Animal Rescue place) said that she would find me a Tortoiseshell Kitten – If the Kitten I wanted (from their Ad) was Gone.

She said that many Rescue Organisations make it very hard for people to Adopt a Cat - & that she did not want to make it hard.

They would not give me a time to come & see Pepper Kitten yesterday afternoon – because someone was already coming to see Pepper (at 12.00pm) today, & was presumably going to take her home.

Then late this afternoon the Carer sent me a message:

She said that the people (at 12.00pm) had wanted a Male Cat, & expected Pepper Tortie to be a Male – even though she was Advertised as female.

Tortoiseshell Cats are Always female (never male) – because Tortoiseshell Colouring is Sex-Linked.

I’ve known that for Decades - & the Animal Rescue lady Confirmed it, she said the same thing today.

So off I went – 1st I spent an hour with the Animal Rescue lady, she showed me the 20 or so Rescue Cats at her house, including the 6 Cats she just brought down from Up North this afternoon.

Plus the older Tortie Cat that I was going to choose, if Pepper was not available (Sold/ Adopted).

Then I went to the Carer’s house, wher Pepper was - Spent just under an hour there.

The Carer had said they would be happy for me to take Pepper home tonight (if I wanted her) – So I did.

She’s a Tortie – Just like my Childhood Megsie Cat, who lived to 20 years old - & Megsie Mark II.

Pepper started Purring Loudly like a Lawnmower – Soon after I brought her home.

She started running around the entire house exploring absolutely everything, every nook & cranny.

Now she’s sitting on my Lap, purring away….

That's lovely news @Adge . I hope Pepper and Jelly Cat get on well, it might take a day or two.

Re: Daily Achievements!

@Adge having a kitten to play with might be just what Jelly Cat needs!
