Hi all,
Frog, I can understand those sentiments and apprehension about winter weather. Where I am, it is very hot in summer with mild winters. It is more the heat in summer that gets to me at times, but air-conditioning takes the edge off the heat. Here, it normally only gets cloudy before it rains, which is not that often and usually in winter. We do occasionally get the tail end of tropical thunderstorms in January/February and, sometimes, a cyclone reaches down this far, in the south of Western Australia. The rain is normally appreciated because the area in which I live is mostly agricultural. Consequently, any distress is normally for only a short period and offset by the pleasure with which the rain is received. Apart from those events, spring, autumn and winter are very pleasant.
However, there are times when I miss a misty day with a fire going in the lounge room, as I remember from time in Wangaratta and can occasionally get in the hills near Perth. Here today, it is a sunny 26 deg with an expected low of 12 and top of 28.
Cheers, HenryX
