@Dimity @Shaz51 @Delicatessen @Captain24 @hanami Hi to those of you I haven’t met. Shaz51 suggested I get in touch with you all. I have bipolar 1 and am currently struggling with depression. It’s really bad. I didn’t get a message about a psychiatrist appointment tomorrow when I was expecting one. Really worried about how bad I am feeling. Any suggestions to help with this?

@Dimity Thanks for the welcome. I have bipolar 1 depression at the moment so not travelling so well. Thanks for asking. Can you offer any suggestions on how to get out of this low?

Yes it can be tough @GezzaP

I try to keep occupied or at least distracted, I walk daily and make an effort with healthy meals (I admit they're not fancy). Trying to stay connected isn't always easy but the forums help. I use a mood and activity tracker (the free version of Daylio) which can be quite useful... you can set it up with your own choice of activities and check in whenever you want.

I hope you hear from your psychiatrist. I understand the anxiety and uncertainty of waiting. Could you ring their office tomorrow morning?

@Mazarita @Shaz51 Hi I have bipolar 1 and am currently depressed. I have had diagnosis for 32 years but maybe had it earlier. I agree I think anxiety and depression underlies bipolar. In my opinion it is definitely hereditary. I have many relatives with this or similar problems like depression. Both my parents hard mental illnesses. Any support at this time would be appreciated. Do you have any suggestions?
