Let's talk DID and dissociation

Let's talk DID and dissociation

Hello all

@Former-Member, @Bellarose75, @BraveOne, @Nyx, @Fluttershy1, @Maggie, @Grace20212, @NoOne, @MySunrise, @Unlonely1, @destructive, @Lemonjuice and we are sure there are others who have DID or dissociation disorders but we haven't interacted with them so feel free to add others we missed.

We noticed that there is a lot of threads popping up about DID and decided that maybe having a thread we can all chat on and ask questions and give advice to each other would be good.

We thought we would start off by explaing who we are.

We call ourselves the dragon system.

Host/main/core goes by our username due to guidelines but the rest of us are happy to say our names it also helps people know who's responding.

Here is a list of all of us that we as a working system is aware of.

So I'm going to split it up into 3 groups, littles (0-10), middles (11-17) and bigs (18+).

So my littles are :

Kelly, 4, mute and trauma holder, Eshy, main

Sarah, 6, main

Strudle, 5, wolf shapeshifter, main

Brandon

Bianca

Brittney, 7, the BBB triplets

Sienna, 8, prefers CC

Dana, 4, trauma holder, AP

Leana, 6, trauma holder, AP

Cameron, 8, trauma holder

Kelsey, 5, trauma holder

Uunala, 4, trauma holder, Eshy

Stacey, 10

Tessa, 9, FS Trauma holder

My middles are:

Steph, 15, sporty, gender fluid

Daisy, 13, Artistic

Macey, 12, smart, Eshy

Repunzel, 16/17, Fictive

Elsie, 17, littles helper

Erin, 15, trauma holder, Sh, main

Iris, 11, positive empath, littles caretaker, main

Chloe, 14, littles caretaker, clean freak (possibly ocd)

Mermaid Princess, 15/17, unknown language

Zayella, 15, sad/grief empath, inner world protector

Casey, 13, troublesome, sh

Evie, 15/16, fictive

My bigs are:

Sapphire,18, wolf shapeshifter, system protector, main

Harmony, 30, protector, main

Honey, 19, sexual

Grant, age Slider, 18-25,

Lana, 20, negative empath

Holly, age unknown, demon, system persecutor, is a main but currently locked away

Twilight, age unknown, dragon, gatekeeper

We know not all people with DID have an inner world but we do. Host created inner world as an escape when she was 9 and it has become a major part of our system. For anyone wondering twilights role as gatekeeper is literally that our inner world is surrounded by a brick wall and has a large gate outside that is a giant Forrest and twilight keeps the bad out. Holly came before twilight did so it's probably the only reason she made it in.

We also have C-PTSD, anxiety, depression, social anxiety, and panic disorder. Host is severe asthmatic as well which we suppose makes us all asthmatic.

Anyway hope you like the idea of this thread and we are happy to chat anytime but we do apologize if we don't always answer straight away

Thanks

Harmony/babydragon

Hi everyone.
@MySunrise water

colouring sounds nice. What did you paint?

we had a day of chores and time with our son.

it's been hard since therapy Thursday to stay present with him and not get caught in thinking about it all. I read someone else had little kids but can't remember who now. It's tough.

Re: Let's talk DID and dissociation

Also I'm thinking maybe trying a DID journal and see maybe if I can write some stuff and show T because I struggle to talk so much. Anyone have any they'd recommend?

@destructive,

We use journals and diaries, some of us have individual ones and then we have a communal diary too

@Former-Member Did you just use a notebook and create your own pages? I've seen ones you can buy that have prompt pages. I don't know if I'd know where to start with a plain book

Re: Let's talk DID and dissociation

Hi all.
@destructive, I wasn't me for most of yesterday so unfortunately I didn't get a chance. That's one of the things I struggle with with this, I make plans but then another part will step in and all my plans don't get done.

@destructive @Former-Member

I use an app on my phone called Day One. There is a free version that I used for a while but I've now subscribed. You can have multiple journals.

I also use an A3 art book. It's been helpful when parts have big feelings and need lots of big space. Some of my parts can only express themselves through drawing.

@BraveOne, hey there. I am just going back over the thread and reading things I've missed.
BraveOne, thank you for sharing that you are working on consent. I completely forgot about consent and shared stuff here over the last few days that have gotten me into internal trouble. It wasn't until I read your post that I realised that's what I had made a mistake about. I shared without consent.
I would love to find out more on how you get consent if you are free to talk about it here.

Re: Let's talk DID and dissociation

@MySunrise , so sorry for taking so long to respond, I just wanted sometime where it was just me. So right I am exhusted and I have had ice cream so that should keep the others at bay at least longer enough to type this relpy.

I am sorry your fear displays as anger, that must be hard. I don't know weather it would help in this case but here I go. Max has a job to do, what makes them angry? What is he proctecting the body from with their anger? These are questions I get asked in therapy all the time, and sometimes we have the answer and sometimes we don't. It is really hard with the underlying trauma really to figure these things out and you don't want to push to hard incase there is a story that maybe the body is not ready or able to deal with right now. I am sorry however that they take it out on your husband. How is he handling your alters, I mean is he understanding that it's a part of the host and it can not be controlled and that it's not about the host being unhappy with him it's just trauma?

Please hear me when I say, There is nothing in you that needs fixing. Your mind did what it had to do, it proctected you growing up and now all there is to do is to heal what can be healed and learn a new way to live with your alters and your family. Never let anyone tell you that you are sick, need to be fixed or anything along those lines. You are ok as you are and with help you can reach for better everything. Kim

Re: Let's talk DID and dissociation

I hope everyone is having an ok Sunday, my day started off strange. I have never expereniced this before and am unsure if the host has, I spent the morining having I guess an outter body experenice. So the body was doing the ironing, cooking up three different bulk dinners, washing up ect and I was just watching. I don't know what to make of it.

@MySunrise , I get what you mean by asking their names and that making it more real. Our host though didn't get a choice as we refused to not be called by our name not hers. Letting them tell you their name may help though, it would make them feel heard and respected (so I am told) and will help with healing what needs to be healed. We (olds) love diamond painting and paint pouring and cup turning. The llittles love to colour and make big messes with whatever they can get their hands on.

@Former-Member , anxiety around relationships is all to fimailar to the host. We know that it's because of how we where raisied and the abussive relationships as we got older. I would love to say that it settles down but I would be lying to both of us. We have next to no friends in real life as we are constantly waiting for them to reject us. The host got brave a few months ago and sent out a family group chat explaining that we had DID and CPTSD and what that meant to us for our lives, relationships ect and the few family that did accept it treat us like a bomb that is about to go off and the others proved to the host that she is not worthy to have good healthy relationships (we know that is not true but it's her view for now)

@destructive , Hello friend how is your puppy doing today? I only realised a couple of nights ago that the "puppy" in this home is an old lady, she is like 78 human years old. You know the rules your therapist said "She doesn't get hurt, You don't get hurt and nothing gets broken" well ours says the same thing almost every session as their are alters around that don't want to or can't remember things. As for knowing weather something is a memory or a thought, while I am not expert I would say if you continued to have strong deja uv about the same thing then I would consided it a memory. If I am remembering correctly you said something about not being able to speak in sesssions have you consider keeping a notebook handy and writting stuff down that you want to ask or tell her? We have an alter that communicates with ours in this way only. (she writes really bad poetry)

@Former-Member How are you doing this weekend? Are you getting much of this rain? It's hot and sticky here and very overcast but little rain.

@Unlonely1 Hey Friend sending you some warm wishes and happy vibes

@BraveOne Hope your Sunday is be kind to you

@Fluttershy1 Hey sweetie

Hello to everyone else passing through today
