Moving forward

Moving forward

As Monday looms I have been trying to work out how to move forward. Today I started collecting things for my coping box (thanks @Crazy_Bug_Lady). I bought some of my fave chocolates to put in and have been gathering bits and pieces. Happy for any other suggestions as to what to put in. I think I may need one for the car too. I'm thinking I may copy some pieces of wisdom from this forum and print them up to add in.

I'm hoping that I get to write more on this thread than the struggle thread as time goes by. Please feel free to add how you are moving forward as well. 💜😊

Re: Moving forward

Great Ocean Road ... is world class .. and one of my old haunts but its struggling at the moment ... with extreme weather and land slides ...

Yep we gotta make plans ... so E. Tolle isnt right about everything .. just the ones who actually needed to learn to live in the present.

Re: Moving forward

@Former-Member Your new flower pic is such a deep beautiful ... blue-purple ??

Welcome @kdoll Unfortunately I have felt agitated in my own skin for a great deal of my life ... but there were reasons .... It is tough and some meds help and some dont. Gardenias are beautiful too .. I had one that lasted about 6 years but one blistering summer and bugs finished it .. I guess there are different sizes and varieties ...

@Former-Member A lot of people are doing rethinks re the benefits of the digital revolution, and the truly best way to incorporate it for a good life. Go the random chats ... it is good also in that it teaches us that its not all about ... even stevens .. mutual admiration societies and tit-for-tat .. keeps things ... "organic" .

@Decadian I like your sense of adventure. Mine was been considerably limited by my neck, but am still an adventurer at heart .. I read a lot of boy books like Biggles growing up ... its a good way to break up the isolation.

Re my isolation ... it has been huge and for blocks of time of many years ... teaching at home was good in the last 15 years .. as I had people showing up at my door at regular times ... I did love my teaching and miss it a bit ...

I think I am going through another period of change ... readying my self internally for the empty nest.... slowly slowly.

@Decadian @Former-Member @Former-Member @Faith-and-Hope & anyone I've missed.
Feeling better. Finally got out of bed 1 & 1/2 hours ago and just said to myself "do it".
Have cleaned up dining and lounge rooms. Been to shops and bought ingredients for dinner - 6 of us tonight instead of usual 2.
Still have to scrub bathroom and have a shower before I start preparing dinner.
Last night was probably not the best night to reduce my medication. Didn't plan it very well. Maybe should have saved it for tonight instead. Still - I got a good sleep.
Am ready to go and will put on my smiley face before the guests rock up at 6pm. It's not appropriate to have a down day on your birthday. Even my son is watching me closely - making sure I'm happy. Hopefully they will all be gone by 8.30 & I can go back to bed & put my happy face away until next time.

Tis True @Apple blossom.
I skim over the rubbish...but I do like how you phrase it ' keeping it organic'..:ok_hand:.
Most definitely the way to move forward without being sucked into the vortex! ☺

Re: Moving forward

I love random chats! Sometimes you meet the most loveliest people. I find it interesting how strangers will tell you so much, & sometimes it comes in at key times & makes so much sense.
That's awesome @Apple blossom.
It's good for the spirit & soul. 💙🙏🎆

Re: Moving forward

Yes @Former-Member I Believe in random chats ... and it helps develop community attitudes.... can form and improve things if they are good and fair dialogues.

First we connected on stuff we had in common .. both had half Aussie half American kids ... covered a million topics under the sun ... but then he went into guns ... but even then we still had a lot to say very amicably ... and I got to talk about ... Peele & community policing ... he is just over here .. feeling homesick .. but wife & kids still Stateside.

Re walk: I got to raise my heart beat .. but not break a sweat .. or was that the cool sea-breeze .. probably the perfect amount for a lady of my age.

My ex came into my house today ... uninvited by me .. I commented on it ... in neutral tone .. he smirked and backed out.
