Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow and @Snowie I just found out that it won't be up anytime soon at this stage. I'll update when we find anything out.

Re: My Mosaic

are we allowed to ask what is going on? Are there technical issues? Or are they just choosing not to put it back online?

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow fair questions! I've escalated the situation to management as you're entitled to answers.

Thanks @hanami

I really hope it is just a technical issue.

Really miss the chat. Only one I feel comfortable with.

@Bow around if you need

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie just finding the nurses to be really insensitive when it comes to my eating disorder. They have no clue how to talk to me about it.
Had a nurse come in to chat with me earlier today and she just said some really unhelpful things and haven’t been able to pick myself up off the floor since.

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry to hear that @Bow It's a shame when people do not understand us. Much worse when it is one of our support staff. Some nurses just don't know how to talk to us, especially when it comes to something like eating disorders.

I am hoping that they put something in your notes about you ED. Do you know if they have anything in there?

I'm sorry you are so down at the moment, especially after such a great weekend spending it with your D.

Lots of love and hugs hon 💕💕

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow that is so crappy to have to deal with. I'm sure this is the last thing you need on your plate right now when you're putting so much effort into making the most of your stay there.

Just an idea - what would it look like if the nurses were supportive? What sorts of things would you find helpful to hear? Perhaps you could write up a brief list of things that you find really triggering and things that would actually be helpful, and give it to the staff to pass around?

Kind of baffling they haven't gotten some kind of training or something on how to be more mindful and tactful when supporting folks with EDs. You can't be the first person with ED to come through, and you won't be the last.

Re: My Mosaic

Certainly some things to think about thanks @Jynx One of the psychologists that is in tomorrow to facilitate groups, I know from community mental health. I think I will have a chat with her about it. I think all I really need is for them to be checking in with me and ensuring that I am eating and drinking. I don’t need them to be asking me what other thoughts I have in relation to my ED, specifically around my body image and for them to respond in uneducated and unsupportive ways.
