Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Oh yes @tyme! Me too. When I was younger, 19 I think, I kept a journal and I wrote about the sa by my step dad at the time. My mum found my journal and read it. That’s how she found out about it all. I was so angry. Maybe that’s why I’m subconsciously not good at journaling!

I do now hide my therapy journal though.

Re: My Mosaic

Totally agree @Bow ! Also, I find journalling difficult because reading back, I honestly sound so 'stupid'... for example, I may write about a big explosion because someone texted and added a full stop to the end of their message... like seriously? Now looking back, it's not worth the stress and tears.

Re: My Mosaic

I think a good practice for mental health journaling would be not to go back and read it. Just do a mental dump and close the book @tyme but I get that that would probably be hard for some people.

I like to write poems too @creative_writer my old psychologist called me the words smith. And in her goodbye card, she said I had a way with words far beyond her… which took me aback a little. She’s a clinical psychologist and studied for many years!

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow, it is true you do have a way with words and you are a great writer (from reading your posts on the forums).

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @tyme @creative_writer i do like to write when I have something to say. I’m not very good with spoken words, I really struggle. But with written words I can think about what I want to say more. Make sure it sounds right.

it’s a big fear of mine. Not sounding right, sounding dumb, saying words wrong, not even being heard in the first place.

But she did say that my old psych was on 4 weeks leave and then would be returning as an eating disorder specialist and that I would probably see her from time to time.

This seems amazing - it would be so good if she can go back to being your psychologist when she comes back after 4 week' leave! I know it's an awful wait 😞

More soon... @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

I've caught up now @Bow and I see you have a new psych! That's great - when is your first appt?

I am also a skin picker and have been since a baby. It's it's own illness now, called Excoriation Disorder, although yes it's also is a symptom of BPD.

Sending hugs @Bow 💜
