This is a brand new hospital. Opened last year. It’s no bigger than the old one and half the beds are closed cause there isn’t the staff to work them. I thought there was a specific mental health section in the ED, but it doesn’t look like it.
I sat enviously looking at the empty bed opposite me for ages in the early hours of this morning. When another bed became vacant in the middle of the night, the mental health patient next to me was offered the bed but she declined. It was never offered to me.
One good thing about being voluntary is that I was allowed to go for a walk to the cafe to get myself a drink. I got an ice chai. Wouldn’t have been able to do that if I was scheduled. Small wins.
I’ve had all my morning meds today. They didn’t have the correct dose of one of them and the nurse said I would have to wait until it came down from pharmacy. But the mental health guy ended up going up to the psych ward and got the correct dose for me. That was nice of him.
the phone reception and free wifi is terrible in here. Was trying to watch survivor finale from last night and home and away. But it won’t load.
@Snowie how did your appointment go??
@Captain24 I read on your thread about your job. I’m sorry that you’re having to deal with this again. And your dietitian… I feel like I’ve wasted her time every appointment for the last 2 years. I’ve never been able to stick to my meal plans or anything else. But she assures me… cause I’ve texted her multiple times to cancel my appointment cause I didn’t want to waste her time, that I indeed wasn’t. I think ideally anyone that is trying to restore a healthy relationship with food is aiming for 6 meals… 3 meals and 3 snacks. I’ve rarely been able to do that, maybe when on a medical admission and shortly after being discharged. So keep trying.
