Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry you feel that way @Bow - this doesn't mean you have 'failed'.

I can only think back to my case management days. Very similar to your situation. Barely talking. Unable to express inner self. Feeling terrible.

That is why I HAD a case manager.

For the next session, have a think about what you'd like to achieve from the session. It may be more directed that way?

Re: My Mosaic

I had a chat with a counsellor from the help centre before I went @tyme i had somewhat of a plan. I was to be honest about how bad things were, but needed to stay out of hospital, so was to discuss things to put in place to avoid that. But I wasn’t honest. So I failed at that.

Re: My Mosaic

How would we go about re-framing this @Bow - does it really mean you are a 'failure'? 'Failure' is a very heavy and strong term. As much as you may feel this ways, I can certainly see why you are NOT a 'failure'.

We need you here. I read it is so difficult at the moment. But I also know it won't always be like this.

Hang in there. I'm with you here.

Re: My Mosaic

@tyme You ever call your comm mh team after hours? Like on the weekend? What do you say? I never know what to say….

Re: My Mosaic

Of course I called them in the past @Bow ! That's what they are there for!

Go ahead! Just start by telling them you do not feel well... that's what I used to do. I called them any time.

Re: My Mosaic

Always feel weird saying I don’t feel well… I think I associate it so much with physical ailments and not mental health stuff @tyme

Re: My Mosaic

They will ask for clarification @Bow .

So my start is always 'I don't feel well'. They may then say 'What do you mean you don't feel well?'

Then for me, it is a starting point to tell them how I'm feeling inside, including my thoughts etc.

Of course I'm not saying you have to use this script... it is simply how I was able to open up.

Re: My Mosaic

Ok, that makes more sense @tyme

I think for me I would be more inclined to say… I’m not doing ok…

And then hope that they ask the right questions. Im going to write some points down.

Re: My Mosaic

Definitely @Bow ! And that's okay to tell them "I'm not doing ok". That's a start. You can do it!

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow You're good at writing...could you write things down before your case manager meeting and give them to her to read?

I'm better at writing than speaking so I always do this.

Hoping you have a better day today... 💜
