Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I'm like that too @Bow would rather be cold so I can snuggle under the doona. Not sure I'll be able to do it the next few nights.

Good timing for D!

Hopefully this procedure you are having will help hon and you won't be in any more or at least as much pain

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah it was Saturday that we went to the city @tyme but yes the days just all fade into each other at the moment. Once school goes back I’ll know what day it is.

and yes, went to visit bro and sil today. First time seeing them since they cancelled Christmas on us. ( they were due to come to our place on Boxing Day to do our family Christmas and when we went over briefly Christmas morning to do gifts for the kids they told us they weren’t coming anymore. We had bought and started preparing so much food. I was so angry.) anyways, very awkward visit. Attitude from her.

Will be thinking of ya in the heat hon @Snowie I know it’s horrible trying to sleep in it!

be good to get some answers for sure, instead of just nothing. But nothing serious, easy fix.
I took some painkillers cause I’ve got a headache too. Tired and probably haven’t drank enough today.

we just had some lamb for dinner. Coles pasta salad and some spuds. And some lamingtons

Re: My Mosaic

Arghhhh @Bow . Do you generally have an okay relationship with your SIL and that bro? I wonder if something happened that they just cancelled on you that morning? Or is this the 'norm' for them?

Yes! I agree that life will make more sense once the kids go back to school! These kids here have no routine, no sleep time, they eat when they want, sleep when they want! Hence I dont' know what day is what either!

I hear you @Bow

Re: My Mosaic

Look sometimes there is a bit of tensions between us all @tyme bro is fine. It’s more her. She is very opinionated, complains a lot. She is very b!tchy about people, and if she is like that talking crap about others to us, I have zero doubt she talks crap about us to others. She has also been posting all this crap online about if family don’t make the effort to come see her kids then when they grow and ask questions she will be honest… family isn’t about dna but about presence. Stuff like that. It’s hurtful and yeah, there is no guarantee it’s about us, but high probability it is. But thing is, we have always been the one to put effort in. Prior to moving to this house, we would have them over a couple of times a month for dinner. We would provide everything. We always host Christmas, we always organize birthday get together, providing everything. They have lived in their house nearly 4 yrs, we have been invited over for 2 meals, one meal we took everything there for them! They put zero effort in. There is so much tyme. It’s sad. It makes me sad. Family eh

their excuse for Christmas…. Which they knew about for a week, because they sent mum a message a week before Christmas inviting us around Christmas morning, I said to mum I bet they ain’t gonna come for Boxing Day, I just had a feeling, but mum said no they are coming. They were going away for a few days on the 27th and needed all of Boxing Day to pack?? Really? Couldnt spare 2 hrs to have a meal? If that was the issue they should have told us earlier. We could have done Christmas some other day. It was rude and inconsiderate. When we do Christmas we have it all. Ham, chicken, turkey, all the veggies, plum pudding, pav, trifle and all the trimmings. We had to throw more than half a leg of ham out cause we had our cruise. Sorry still stings.

my D has no routine either and I’ve been trying so hard to start getting her back into some kind of routine. She’s been sleeping in until like 10:30-11am. Doesn’t eat much cause she sleeps so much! School is gonna be a struggle I think.

Re: My Mosaic

That's so so bad @Bow and in so inconsiderate. So I'm guessing she has young kids too?

Did anyone end up saying something to them? THat's a lot of preparation for someone not to turn up!

As for D having not routine, my 10 year old niece is the same! She's been going to best at 11pm each night and waking up at 10 or 11 too! Bad thing is, this kid doesnt like school. She's never liked school. It's a worry because she's not even in high school yet!

D ended up being able to remain at her school when you moved house, right? Does she like school?

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah they have kids @tyme 3 1/2 yr old and 6mth old, so yeah gotta give them some grace, but they have no issue with going to and having her family over, their friends and all. She is putting a wedge between us.
We didn’t say anything, but I’m gonna guess they know how angry and upset by it we… or at least I was. We went around at like 9:30am Chrissy morning, and I had to drop D at her fathers around 10:30, they said I/ we could stay until midday when they were then leaving to go to her family’s Chrissy lunch. I took D to her fathers and didn’t go back. Was too angry. If a bottle shop was open I would have seriously stopped and got a drink and I don’t really drink! It ruined our Christmas Day. Mum and I just sat on the couch by ourselves and did nothing, we were going to go to a combined churches community lunch, but didn’t.Then Boxing Day was crap too cause it was just the 3 of us. It felt like a waste cooking everything for just 3.

they just wouldn’t have a clue what goes into Christmas lunch cause we have always hosted and provided everything.

oh that’s hard that your niece doesn’t like school. Is it a battle every morning? I’m very thankful that my D does like school. Always has. We moved half way through term 2, so kept her there for the rest of the term and then moved schools for term 3. It was hard on her. She had some good friends. But she went ok at her new school. I’ve let her have kids messenger, and she’s got friends from both schools. She’s got a friend from her old school coming over for a play date this week. And she’s really connected with a new school friend over the holidays so I’m really hoping that they are in the same class.

I had a conversation with her the other day about me starting to wake her up earlier in prep for school going back. I said you need to start getting use to getting up early for school and she was like, but you’ll be here mum to wake me up. Tried to explain it all to her, falling asleep in class and such.

Re: My Mosaic

I hope it all works out for you @Bow and you can get some relief.

I haven't drank enough today either.

Dinner sounds yummy. Just had chicken and salad here. Not much cooking needed.

Re: My Mosaic

You are right in saying they have NO idea what goes into prepping for a christmas lunch! I had 30 ppl over on Wed and even that was a whole day's work. And it's not just the food. It's getting the place clean, makign sure you have plates and cutlery, napkins.. it's making food intolderances!!! Your feelings are valid. I would've been furious too. Not to mention having to through everything out! @Bow

Yeah, my eldest niece just hates school. She's always 'sick'. My sis just sends her and if there's an issue, then she gets picked up. The school is only a few mins drive away and my brother in law can pick her up. Can't believe she's in year 5 already!

I said she needs to sleep in her own bed and not in my bed. She adamantly said, "No". When school officially starts, she will have to. I want my own space!

Also, I just wanted to say that I really appreciated you sharing your experiences about EMDR the other day (whatever that day was!). It was a real eye opener. I never knew much about it.
