My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Hi @Bow

It can be extremely hard when our supports go on leave hon, especially at this time of year.

Hopefully seeing someone tomorrow can at least help a little.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow 😊

So awesome that this SW can do some visits over the weekend, and that she helped you to feel heard and supported - goes a long way, hey.

It really is awful timing to be without psych support this time of year. I know it can come with extra challenges. You still have no word on a new one? Definitely helps to have someone to confide in and a safe space to offload... wondering if there's interim stuff that might help? Journalling, crisis lines, stuff like that - I've also seen a couple of members recommending GROW Peer Support, might be something worth checking out?

What's on for you for the rest of the weekend? Do you have plans with your SW or is it a brief visit?

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Jynx

yeah I’m just now really anxious about her visit in the morning. Hopefully I get the soft/warm/listening/empathetic SW and not the chilled/laughing one.

yep bad timing with all this trauma stuff that I am dealing with and the chopping and changing of my other supports. But it is what it is. Maybe if my old psych/CM had put a referral in for a new one instead of just making the decision that I didn’t need one without consulting me, maybe I’d have a new one by now?
My SW lets me unload via text any time. Middle of the night, when I’m trying to sleep. I find it helpful knowing she will read it when she starts work in the morning and will give me the chance to talk if I want. But yeah she’s away now until next Sunday. She’s assured me that my interim SW knows what is going on and that I can call/text when I need. But it’s different. I have used a crisis line a few times this week. That’s just where things are at.

I seen my new (again) pdoc this week. He increased one med and we talked at length about an admission. Was suppose to be looking at an admission the beginning of this week but my CM is away and I’ve heard nothing from the team so have no support in organizing that. So early in the new year? We even talked about ECT cause it has helped in the past. Also talked about that magnetic therapy, but it’s not bulk billed. He was alright. Talked a lot about medication.

no grow groups near me unfortunately.

Tomorrow SW home visit. I told her today I was trying to keep myself busy to stay safe and told her I had been doing some craft. She said maybe I could show her what I had been working on.
We are having afternoon tea with our neighbors. They invited us over. Don’t particularly wanna go, but sigh. They are nice. I’m just not feeling up to it.
Told D we were gonna clean her room tomorrow too yay (not) she was off all week sick and recovering. So it’s a mess

Re: My Mosaic

@Bow my fingers are crossed for ya tomorrow hun 🤞

Mmm it's super frustrating hey - I wish more places/health professionals adhered to the mantra 'Nothing about you, without you' - agency is so important for trauma recovery.

Is it different cos it's a stranger? Makes sense, gotta build that trust and safety first. Which is hard when it's a temporary/interim relationship. You could like... 'dip a toe' and just send some thoughts - maybe even start small and just get a feel for how she responds.

I really do hear how the fact that stuff is up in the air - like meds, admission times, other supports etc. - is creating a feeling of destabilisation for you hun. Hope you get some clarity around next steps soon 🤞

They have online groups!

Hope the visit goes well! And maybe you'll end up having a bit of fun with the neighbours hehe you never know! Or maybe you'll learn something new, or find connection on something you weren't expecting 😋

Eep!! Good luck, hope there's no rotten food stuffed under her bed (ickle Jynx was definitely guilty of this, LOL).

Rest well hun, feel free to check in tomorrow if you wanna chat 💜

Hello dear @Bow

I hope the visit from your SW went ok hon and you could show her what you have been working on. Our local shopping centre had a market on yesterday. I always think of you and think just how much they would love your art at our little market!!

How did the afternoon tea went?

Poor D. I didn't realise she was that sick. Hoping she is over it now and can enjoy her last days at school for the year.

Leaving some 💗💗

Re: My Mosaic

@Jynx I got the really really chatty laughing SW this morning. It was actually exhausting. She hardly stopped and hardly gave me the chance to talk. Not what I really needed today. She was like ‘your doing a bit better today?’ Well yeah kinda had to go along with her… lol here… lol there. Sigh.

yeah different cause she’s a stranger. I’ll try and dip my toe a little. See how she responds. My SW asked if she can do a home visit tomorrow like she normally would do. So will see what happens.

Room clean went ok. Mostly done. No good thankfully. When we moved into this place I told her no food in bedrooms. And she has kept to that.

afternoon tea was alright. They are lovely. Have a 29yr old pet carpe. And he had this awesome studio out the back. Carpet up the walls, cool vinyls and music memorabilia. Drums, guitars, mixing things.

but I’m exhausted. Peopling with the SW and then more peopling with the neighbors.

just as I was heading out the door for afternoon tea had a call from a private caller. Didn’t answer cause I was going out. Text msg came through. ‘ community mh team calling to discuss my mental health needs we will call back shortly’. Obviously couldn’t answer. Sigh makes me angry Jynx. I’m sorry I won’t ramble about it. But they are an f’ing joke.

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Snowie

SW boat was ok. But not really what I was needing. She talked so much. Like yak yak yak. And she laughs after nearly everything.

I love little markets like that.

afternoon tea was ok. They are lovely folks. Church folks. Lots of talking. We talked a fair bit about travels cause they have travelled a bit too. They showed us their fish pond and their 29yr old carpe. It was huge. And then he showed us his studio out the back. He plays heaps of music, drums, guitars, bass. Records stuff too. Some really cool vinyls and music memorabilia. Green carpet up the walls. He use to own a Cadillac.

D was really that sick. She vomited the beginning of the week and had diarrhea and unfortunately the diarrhea just stuck around. She’s fine now and is going to school tomorrow for the last week!

how are you doing?

Re: My Mosaic

Hi @Bow

I know in the past that your SW has been quite chatty. That can make things difficult, especially when you need to be able to tell someone what is happening with you. Sometimes you just need her to listen. Even if they don't have any suggestions, just listen.

Glad afternoon tea went ok. It's good to have nice neighbours. We had new neighbours move in across the road yesterday. ohh I hope his music doesn't keep you awake at night!

That would be a pretty cool studio.

So happy D is better hon, for your sake hon. It takes a lot out of you too when caring for a sick child. At least you don't have to worry about school runs after this week.

How is your Xmas shopping going?

I'm ok, last night was rough.
