My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

That looks so professional @Bow ! Yes, it's a bit hard for me to understand, but I look forward to seeing the finished. I would've never realised it was handmade. Your work is top notch. I hope you can start a business @Bow What amazing talent. I've always said that.

Yeah.. I need to get to know cats a little more.. I think when you watch all those movies where they have a 'cat lady' who was a witch or a loner, it scared me as a kid. I think that's why I was never drawn to cats.

As for a maine coon! Wow! Go for it! I wonder how much they eat. I know someone who had a maincoon once.

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah I think they have their blue eyes still @Jynx and a couple of them have their ears straightened up instead of the little curled over ones. They are changing and doing new things nearly every day. It’s cool to watch. Few more days and I can take Mr Groot down to say hi. He will no doubt freak out!

I got no idea. I do know that the sun in the states in different though. When I went over and did summer camp I came back all tanned. I like a tan… I pretty much pull the fake tan lotion out as soon as my white legs are in shorts.

I should probably look into insurance for them. I got 170 now. I do have to admit…. When the checkout lady at the book fair asked why so many copies, I did enjoy telling her about my collection. She did seem genuinely intrigued.

Market prep is going alright. I had a couple of productive days. Next weekend we have Saturday and Sunday markets. I think Monday I will need to spend it in bed. And then mum goes to tassie Tuesday. Oh I will need to show you a new cat piece that I did during the week.

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @tyme a cricut really does lift things to a next level. Last year I did a shadow box with erasers in them and a quote on the glass about teachers that I painted on. This year I’ve used the cricut to put the quote on and it looks so much better!

Haha…. I’ve always been a loner so maybe that’s why I love cats!

mainecoons are so expensive though! Maybe I’ll get a retired king or queen. They are a bit cheaper.

Re: My Mosaic

Are they really rare @Bow ?

Wow. And what's the lifespan? They must eat a truck load!

Re: My Mosaic

Not super rare @tyme but they are commonly found in the states.

They live between 12-15yrs. I’d assume they eat more than a regular size cat.

I’d love a polydactyl one too

Yeah the ozone is thinner here, or something? Especially over VIC 😅

Never done a fake tan before. Seems like a sensory nightmare for me 🤣

Wow, 170!! I tip my hat to you madame, that is impressive! Do you also collect Alice merch/clothes/knick knacks?

Ooh yes show show!! How long is your mum away?

Re: My Mosaic

We had 2 ginger cats, brothers, who had some mainecoon in them @tyme nowhere near as big as that cat, but they were really fluffy, big paws. They were gorgeous cats. Mine was called custard, his brother was max. I cried for a week when custard died. He was such a gentle and beautiful cat. He always knew when I wasn’t doing ok and wouldn’t leave my side.

I’ve always had a cat.

I got a cat sometime in my teens. I went to my dad’s for the weekend and he disappeared. Mum panicked and found another kitten for me. But then my original one turned back up where we got him from and the breeder returned him to us. We then had 2 cats!

my cats always end up costing me a fortune too! Monty hot bite by a tiger snake. Then hit by a car and had to have his jaw wired back together. Custard had a blocked urinary tract and needed surgery. Brûlée ate a piece of rubber floor mat and needed that surgically removed. Jaffa too had urinary issues and needed surgery and then was just constantly sick with it.

I always got boys cause they are cheaper to desex. But boys often have urinary issues. So no more boy cats for me!
