My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah my psych is going on maternity leave beginning of September @Snowie and I have no idea when she will be back. I just don’t understand why they don’t fill her position for the duration of the time she is away. I asked if I could see a particular psychologist instead and she said no, you can’t just ask to see someone in particular due to the way the teams are set up.

and yeah I was actually telling Jynx last night I don’t know which will actually be worse..,, having a strange casual worker who I don’t know and won’t necessarily feel comfortable talking in front of or not having any support at all. I don’t know.

im tired. Tired of everything being such a huge effort

Re: My Mosaic

That's totally understandable that you are tired of everything @Bow

It must be weighing on your brain so much.

I know you'll still have support there, but not having your psych is such a huge part of that support being taken from you. I too don't understand why they are not replacing her or getting the other psych's there to take on more patients.

I really hope your pdoc can help tomorrow, even just a little

Re: My Mosaic

Thanks @Snowie

I hope so. I also want to talk to him about my meds and weight gain. I want to come off some of them. I am on so many meds. And I’ve put on so much weight which is not doing my ED any good

Re: My Mosaic

I get the 'so many meds' @Bow I've spoken to my pdoc too about coming off some of them. He says no at the moment 😔

It's hard, some of those meds can help but you have to deal with the side effects. Someitmes those side effects can be really hard to deal with. It must be hard with your ED too and trying to manage it all.

Re: My Mosaic

Had my pdoc appointment this morning. I had one of the other SW’s there with me and not a casual so that was ok.

tole him how bad my thoughts are, how hard it is to distract myself from them. He asked me the 1-10 question, I said I’m sitting at an 8 most of the time. He suggested a short planned admission. I said no, not keen for that. He explained that there is a very short window of time to have that short planned admission and we don’t want to miss it. And we don’t want me doing things I have done in the past.

He asked if I knew why things have been a bad and I explained to him that I believe a lot of it is to do with my body image, ED and the intense self hatred and disgust I feel due to the weight I have put on this year. I asked if we could look at reducing some meds that have the weight gain as a side effect and he was pretty hesitant, saying he didn’t think it would help that much. But he eventually agreed to a small reduction and seeing him again in 2 weeks time instead of the usual 4-6weeks.

he also asked about whether I am continuing with my therapy and I said that was something else I wanted to talk to him about and explained I won’t have a psychologist once mine goes on mat leave. He was concerned about that, saying therapy is so important, more important than the medication. He said he would see what he could do. So fingers crossed.

im feeling pretty flat today. Very low energy

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow it sounds like this was a bit of a needed appointment today. Glad your PDOC was able to listen to you about the meds and be open to trialing a different dose to see if it's helpful.

I'm hoping that this will also lead to some more solid support put in place while your psych is away.

What's the afternoon got in store for you today?

Re: My Mosaic

Yeah much needed I think @Ru-bee although I greatly appreciated the support of the other SW, it was a bit hard to be open and honest with her. I don’t know her really.

My pdoc said he didn’t want to force me to have an inpatient stay, but did express his concern. Just have to do what I can to make sure I stay safe.

not much really. I put a furniture seal on the tv unit I have been doing up. And I put a beeswax on the top of it as I’m leaving that the natural wood. Apart from giving the top a polish once the wax has dried, it’s all finished finally. Just have to organise for my brother to come over at some point and help bring it and the table I have already done, upstairs.
I finished a Lego build. Watching a movie.

how’s your day?

Re: My Mosaic

That TV unit sounds like it's gonna be a lovely piece of furniture @Bow! Exciting to have it so close to being finished!

What movie are you watching?

My day has been good, a bit slow but that's okay. I'm actually just about to finish up and I'm going to get myself out of the house and take my dog for a walk in the sun

Re: My Mosaic

Yep looking forward to having the furniture upstairs and in their places. And I got a few more pieces to go! @Ru-bee

Just watching an earthquake movie on Tubi

a walk outside in the sun actually sounds really nice! Our dog is asleep on the floor in the sun now. Hope you enjoy your walk with Toby? You around tomorrow?

Re: My Mosaic

Hey @Bow

It sounds like your pdoc appt. was hard work but hopefully something comes from it. I'm glad your pdoc was concerned about you not having access to a psych. Really brave of you to tell them all you did.

I hope the rest of your day is going ok 💗
