My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Hearing you.

Wish they put more community into the community health system.

Part of my reason for being on forum so much, is to advocate for effective services, not lip services. There are many who care, but it is important for them not to be too relaxed about the broken system, which one of my workers is .... Ahem ... cough cough.

Take Care for you and those you love.

Re: My Mosaic

I've had so many bad experiences with community mental health in recent months @Appleblossom

They don't answer their emergency number half the time and when I leave a message they never return my call.
The last time someone came out to do a home visit the lady stood there and told me I didn't have an Ed and completely dismissed and invalidated everything that I was experiencing.
I've gone in for face to face appointments and they have been very unhelpful.
I comply with them otherwise I'd be in hospital. but they really are a complete waste of time.

@Bow

Sorry to hear that, my personal experience has been middling at best, after their fiasco in December about my admission.

A little history: I was in a Family Therapy session on a campus close to where they were pioneering the community crisis assessment teams, back in the early 90s. There were a few good ideas floating around, but the implementation has focussed on clinical models rather than community models. I am less than impressed by the MOs'; been let down by both CAT team and expressly purposed community health organisation, whose name will not be mentioned.

By now, well over 20 years on, IMO they should have set up much better functional community supports.

Re: My Mosaic

I agree @Appleblossom feel you need to be extremely unwell for them to provide the support, while I am able to function to a certain degree, I find myself where I am today- not coping and struggling to stay safe.
think perhaps there needs to be more support around prevention, instead of just providing discharge support.

In the organisation that will remain unnamed. I was prepared to run some groups. They had the space and the equipment. Late last year I had been discussing it with a "spt wkr" young chap with Honours in psychology, but come Christmas, he got the sudden sack, and there were major staff and organisational shifts, and new hook ups ... eg that "body" was selling its own limited agenda groups in the PARC.

The Cat team and the PARC were playing funny buggers with me. Because I was not homeless and I was a mum they felt teaching me to cook was not going to be helpful.

No I am not trying to rort the system or catastrophise. I politely understate if anything. Hhhmm.

Go gently @Bow Hope the Easter period is alright for you. As alright as it can be.

Hope.... I posted a few random lines about the lack of yesterday. Noticed at the same time I think @Appleblossom you posted something about hope too... and then shortly after I was scrolling Insta and again came across something about hope. Pastor shared a brief message about it this morning.
hope.... recovery is hard when you don't have any.

Re: My Mosaic

A music friend who is jewish once said to me Hope springs eternal. I hit rock bottom, and often do not feel hope, but somehow, I drag it up or I notice something hopeful that helps.

@Bow

Liturgically today is supposed to be about HOPE.

Re: My Mosaic

Sorry today’s visit didn’t go well @Bow I have found them to be like Forest Gump’s box of chocolates “you never know what (or who) you’re goung to get”.

I’ve mostly had good experiences but I’ve had a few horrors too.

Sitting with you sweetie.
