Something’s not right

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

My Mosaic

I like mosaic art, I’ve never actually done any, but it intrigued me. Made up of hundreds of tiny pieces of stone, glass and ceramic. If you look at it close up it doesn’t really look like anything special, if anything it looks like a mess. But if you take a step back and view the whole picture- it’s a master piece. I guess it’s kind of like life. So many tiny parts, some messy if we look just at the one part. Some day i guess I’d hope that the mess of my life will at some point look half decent.

So here is part of my mosaic, bits and pieces kept tidy together 🙂

tagging you @Emelia8 cause you asked 🙂

Re: My Mosaic

I start with my new psychologist next week. They called today, said they had a cancellation for tomorrow. I know my scheduled appointment is only a week away, but I could of really used that earlier appointment. But because things have been so messy and my gp has been doing so many other things during my weekly appointments with her, we haven't done up my mental health plan yet- we are planning to do that on Friday.

I feel beyond tired today, so exhausted and weary.

today I realised that I forget what hunger feels like. I genuinely don't remember. Sometimes I think I may want to have something, but just don't. I don't know what my body tells me anymore. I guess something to talk about next week.

I also think that maybe I have come up a decision that I feel sits with me. Not going to be easy, but I have thought about it, but will again hopefully talk about it next week. Maybe this will be a more pressing matter to discuss than the above.

Re: My Mosaic

Today has just gotten harder and harder. I'm drowning and struggling to stay afloat. So many triggers around me, all this government allegations in the media, I can't breath. I'm so tired, constant nightmares. Sh and si are screaming loud and I can't quiet them. I wish to sleep for a long time with no nightmares.

Re: My Mosaic

I wish I could say that I dont understand or know what you are going through @Bow . But sadly I do .. for the news, the triggers, the nightmares and the lack of sleep. I am quite sure there are many others out there right now, going through the same thing. Its a sad reflection on society that rape and sa crimes are so common, yet so rarely reported.

Sitting with you Bow, with a comforting arm around you to keep you safe.

Hi @Bow, sending love

I really hear you that it can be a particularly triggering time right now with what's happening with the government and the media. It sounds like its going to be important that you try to look after yourself as best you can right now. Given how triggering the media can be, I wonder if you can take a break from looking at it for a while, if you haven't already?

@Emelia8 unfortunately you are so right, I know this is really impacting a lot of people right now. Sending gentle kindness and care to you too

It's brought me at least some comfort seeing particular advocates, politicians, and broader community react with overwhelming solidarity and support for survivors. What's happened has made a lot of people angry, and I hope that directed energy can cause some constructive change.

Re: My Mosaic

Thank you @Former-Member 🌸😔💓

The fact that so many people are now coming out and reporting historical rape, makes me feel guilty for not reporting my own rape, all the way back in 1996.

My psych reminds me that I can still report it, because the statute of limitations does not expire in the state/territory in which it occurred. I feel a certain comfort in knowing that if I ever feel strong enough to report, I can still do so.

@Bow ... I'm still here sitting with you.
