Please describe Depression?

Please describe Depression?

Hi All,

My friends new and old......

I was reading something and came accross this quote by Alice Miller who is a writer and Psychotherapist. She writes;

"Depression is the inability to grieve."

Can anyone comment on this ?

For me: it feels like I am Always going to grieve that my Mum does'nt love or listen to me. She will never take the time to be sensetive to my fragile self. Even though I've cut her off..... I still think about her. Because our meetings with his Mum are very successful, my husband wants to see her and talks about her which is both making me feel firm in not wanting to see her but also: depressed

Hi @PeppiPatty

It sounds like your life is a full one - enjoying your cleaning job, exercising, drawing, writing and sewing!! That's a really productive life you pursue - I wish I could do half of that. Well done. In that instance you are well and truly on the right track.

Never say never regarding reaching the light in your friends case as where there is life there is always hope. And time is the great healer. Sending warm hugs xxx

Just saying "hi" @PeppiPatty 💕
You have certainly been through alot.
You sound like you are doing quite well, working etc., despite everything. Good on you for moving forward and trying to be positive. I'm here to chat if you ever feel that you need to.
What did you study at university? If you don't mind me asking? That's great that you were able to go to uni. 😀

You said, my turn. 😊Gosh! I wouldn't know where to start with my story. 😀

I've had a roller coaster of a life. I try to keep life easy now. I keep to myself alot, seems to be the best way for me to recover. Too many hurts from family and friends, so it's just my hubby and daughter at the moment.

Have you been ok? 💕🌷🌸🌹🌻🌼
