Checking In

Checking In

Hi,

I'm not doing so well. Didn't have a good appointment with psychatrist today and because I am struggling, it is difficult for me to open up.

Re: Checking In

Hey OG @oceangirl
You are touching on a theme i can relate to.

I think it could be two things - the end of the year and the Christmas reak is upon us and that can sometimes be a reminder that we are drawing to a close.

But secondly it can also be due to individual circumstances in your life. Maybe things are changing around you and you are going through new changes as a result

When I saw my mate last night I was talking to him about stuff. That was beneficial. There wasn't much solution to the issues I have on my plate atm but it was good to air them.

What do you think may be causing you trouble atm?

Re: Checking In

its easy to get lost in things that become the norm, then try to unravel it like its a mystery @oceangirl the amount of clutter on the floor where I live is good indicator of how I am travelling, yet I mostly am blind to it.

Making self clean it up even if start by chance makes me feel better

Re: Checking In

Hey Hams @MDT

My anxiety is quite high all the time, I didn't really notice or maybe its just become the norm for me unfortunately or a way for me to manage it- without it overwhelming me. And also really tired. and not sleeping very well. and makes things difficult. I am not able to plan things etc. It might not be as bad as it seems, I have completed a tafe course, and did really well. I'm just wishing, I was doing more. And I have pressure from others about my functioning, and that really doesn't help- I hope that makes sense. The lack of sleep, and constant fatigue is my biggest challenge atm, and it has been for a while, my lack of sleep. Any suggestions to how to manage it?

I do the same but I am aware of the clutter and unfortunately don't have much energy. Its not too bad but I know if I got stuck in and cleaned it up, I would feel better. I have someone coming tomorrow to do the lawn- its been too wet, to do anything out there (lots of rain the past week). Btw thank you for your message- it made a lot of sense to me... @TAB

Re: Checking In

I see @oceangirl

I'm sorry to hear this my friend. I think things like that can indeed become the norm after a while - for me in the past few months it is being lethargic and therefore not getting up that early on days I don't have work.

I have been somewhat similar in relation to not able to plan things for my life and also some pressure maybe.

How much sleep do you normally get OG? I aim for about 7-8 hours each night. I also try my best to limit sugar before bed and I have also limited my caffeine intake each day and that has helped marginally.

I told my psych a few years ago i had trouble with sleep and he changed some meds for me. They were effective but i had weird dreams so had to reduce it.

I also don't spend time on screens before 1 hour i expect to be in bed - so if i want to be in bed by 10 pm then i don't use screens after 9pm - tv is okay as it is away from my eyes that a pc or similar.

In terms of sleep that has helped a fair bit.

But in terms of other stuff too - well then that is another kettle of fish altogether I would say - because that's about life choices and management etc

What did you do at TAFE? Sorry i think i asked you this before
