Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @TideisTurning @BlueBay @Shaz51 and Everyone here. Thanks for all your kind words yesterday and being so supportive with what I wrote.

Potential trigger warning ahead!

I did manage to call 2 helplines which were great along with doing some journaling of my thoughts in the form of a letter that I'll never send to a old special male friend which was very therapeutic in so many ways. It helps that this male friend is calling me today to discuss things about yesterday. Oh, and I must also add that he dislikes my twin sister immensely to the point he wants nothing to do with her as she has been a major issue in my life recently. It doesn't help with the fact that my twin also thought he'd have a relationship with her only to be majorly upset when he said he'd always wanted to be with me as of 2 years ago since our most recent connection after 20 years and never at all with her. As you can imagine, my twin has used this in every argument against me even saying I'm not allowed a boyfriend because of my MH despite her having MH issues herself as well as a token male in her life. The relevant people are aware of her behaviour and I'm going to look at options such as counseling to learn strategies to deal with this.

That's enough venting for me. Time for me to move along here in forumland. Thanks for reading this!

I'm overwhelmed right now.
how am I meant to find 15 jobs in a month??

it was hard enough looking for 4 jobs a month.
saw my psych this morning. He was very supportive and actually listened.
he is referring me to a female colleague who deals with cptsd. He feels she will be good to have another opinion. But he will still admit me to hospital whenever I need to go. Which he feels I need to go in for a break. He said think about it snd let him know.
he's ordered a blood test for thyroid as he feels if it's out of whack it could be causing some of my issues.
Very stressed having to look for jobs. I don't know how I'm going to do it. 😢😢

Hi @BlueBay

Wow! 15 jobs in a month is a lot! I'm surprised Centrelink set that amount because even I'd struggle to the point of sheer panic myself! Why have they set you that amount? Is it because of where you live, like in a city area? Do you qualify for the disability pension? If not, I'd seriously look at that option, although I do know it's very hard to get compared to when I got it back in 2009.

I'm sorry you're so overwhelmed forumite friend. I'm thinking of you and wish you all the best with what happens. Let's hope a job turns up soon!

Re: Need to vent

I have just called Centrelink and I need to get a medical certificate from my GP who can fill out the form and post to them. This will then make me exempt for looking for work for 3 months. I am so teary, overwhelmed, can't think.

i just called my GP (the new one) who may see me tonight to discuss and hopefully he'll fill out form.

@Judi9877 @Shaz51 @MDT @Eve7 @Emelia8 @Owlunar

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay I'm hearing that you feel pretty overwhelmed right now and I just want to check in on your safety - it sounds really tough.

I'm wondering if you feel like you might need to reach out for some extra support?

Re: Need to vent

I don't know @Former-Member all i can think of right now is how the hell do i find 15 jobs in a month and report back to centrelink. i am not wanting to search for work right now. i am not feeling great physcially or mentally. and i am in my 50's - it is not easy for this age group. if young people can't find work how the hell am i meant to. In my whole working life i have never had to look for work before; i have never had a health care card. the one time i have one because we are struggling financially it is now even more stressful

i think i will tell centrelink to take my health care card off me and leave me alone.

i can't deal with any of this anymore

i have a horrible headache i think from stress

i need a really good cry

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay I can relate to the frustration it sounds like you're feeling. I hope you are able to find a way to unwind this afternoon - even if that does involve a big cry!

Wishing you all the best
