Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Thanks @Judi9877 xx

after waiting over 3 hours in ED I left. No pain meds no nothing. So angry. I got hubby to take me to a private hospital ED. @Owlunar I'm sure this is where you went. You pay $290 but it was worth it. Waiting time was 15 mins. I was triaged and taken to a room. Dr came in and after questions snd feeling my abdomen he decided to do bloods and an ultrasound. He thinks it's gallstones. All results came back - no gallstones. He tried calling my gastroenterologist but couldn't get hold of him. So I'm home and I'll call my gastroenterologist to see if I can see him. The hospital said they coukd possibly do another CT scan but they don't like doing them too often. He said if my specialist agrees to do another I can go back and they will do it.
I'm feeling frustrated and feel that the pain is real. It's not in my head.
I don't know what else to do.

Actually i have made an appt to see another doctor at a different clinic this morning. I want another opinion or suggestions of what else i can do. I've seen him before and he is nice. After that I have an appt this afternoon to see a social worker who is going to help me with regards to my mobile phone. she will help me look at other options of plans. she kindly offered a few weeks ago when i saw her and she helped with finances towards the phone bill. This is an organisation that offer free staple foods for you; as well as other services.

Tomorrow I have an appt with my psychiatrist. Long overdue; although because i am not on any meds i thought of cancelling the appt because i thought what's the point. But he doesn't know about my latest hospital stays and issues i am having and how i am struggling. So i am glad i will see him. Hope he will be empathetic and not straight faced and doesn't say anything.

I am picking up three black stools for our kitchen for free. The area we live in have a facebook page and sometimes people give away items that are still good or near new. These stools are stackable black and are near new. and best thing is they are free. So hubby will pick them up this afternoon.

hope everyone is doing okay. trying to take this slowly and easy today.

Re: Need to vent

how was your day @MDT ?

hi @Eve7 @Judi9877 @Shaz51 @BPDSurvivor @Owlunar @Emelia8 @Faith-and-Hope and others reading along

I ended up seeing this other GP at new clinic around the corner from home this morning. I told him about my latest hospital stay with diverticulitis and then yesterday's ED. He examined me and I was still in pain especially under my right rib.

After explaining my symptoms he decided that the pain is most likely from an inflamed esophagus, which I told him i have been diagnosed with esophagitis start of the year. he said this makes sense because i am getting the pain instantly with eating and drinking. he said if it was gallstones the pain would start after an hour of eating not immediately.

how to fix it? - he prescribed a med to take at night to help with the inflammation as well as I need to take metamucil daily and gaviscon daily for at least 2 weeks. But he said this will take up to a few months to get better. He has also ordered an xray of my bowel to see if this is all clear or still blocked. We need to know. He also mentioned if the pain gets worse or things are not looking good to go back straight away and he will order another gastroscopy or will consult with my gastroenterologist.

I felt that this GP is more thorough than my regular doctor. I am thinking of moving my records to this new clinic. I also emailed my gastroenterologist asking if i could see him asap. He replied and is seeing me as an urgent appt on thursday at 8am before he opens his clinic. He has been on holidays after he discharged me from hospital and returns wednesday to his rooms. I will then update him with today's GP visit and see what he says.

Looking for work every single day (actually more than once a day) and there isn't much around that is suitable. I have a feeling that i won't get an interview for the the pharmacy job I applied for. i don't know i just have this feeling that he has offerred the job to someone else. I am starting to stress even more and feel at times desperate to find a job. Money is going very quickly and I am panicking - which is not helping my stomach.

It's such a hard situation to be in. I feel so guilty for not able to work. i know my health comes first but i still feel bad.

Hi @BlueBay Thanks for keeping me updated. Wow. Sounds like you've got a lot on your plate.

There have been plenty of issues going on for me today but I'm too scared to write them on here in case they trigger some people and where the information will go to. Let's just say I'm not in a great place mentally in many facets and that's it. I just have to try and numb the stuff someway somehow.

Take care.

Hey @Judi9877,

I'm sorry to hear things have been tough for you. Itt's very kind of you to be so mindful of others here in terms of the potential that may exist with others' triggers, however it's really important to reach out for extra support for yourself if you feel it's needed too.Take care 💐

Re: Need to vent

@BlueBay , I have hiatus hernia at the top of my stomach and also have GERD and mine flares up and affects the esophagus

Meds will help as I take them but also which foods makes it worse

I find that I can not have a meal too late at night

Hey @Shaz51

Yeah i can't eat too lately either and if I do at a party/function etc i regret it later on. I don't know what foods trigger this, I think i will need to write down a food diary. Even already made sauces or seasonings affect me terribly. The plainer the food the better. It's so hard though.
