Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hubby came to see me and I told him I'm resigning from wirk.
If I leave hospital end of the week I only have one shift next Wednesday.
but I'm not going in and I'll resign.

i need time to get better physically and mentally. Hubby was ok with my decision as he knows how unhappy I've been.

I was very upset earlier when I received message. Then I got angry. But now I'm ok. I've had time alone to think and it's not good to be so unhappy at work.
it's really not worth it

Re: Need to vent

I think thats the correct decision for you right now @BlueBay . Well done for thinking things through, weighing up the pro's and con's, and making a rational and valid decision about work. I'm glad your husband is understanding and supportive of your decision.

Now you can concentrate on getting yourself well, without the distraction of your frustrations with work.

Good night BlueBay. Hugs.

Re: Need to vent

I'm glad you have made this decision @BlueBay - this job has been dragging you down mentally and physically

Actually I am surprised you are not on sickness benefits - perhaps your specialist can assist you to have a break - I hope so

Take the time in hospital to rest

Re: Need to vent

Hi friends @Owlunar @Eve7 @Shaz51 @Emelia8 @MDT @BPDSurvivor and others reading

home tomorrow. Being discharged. I'm going to rest and take time out.
my gastroenterologist told me that he was lecturing at the main public hospital today and was reading up on info last night. He thought of me snd my issues. He said I have visceral hypersensitivity. So when I'm emotional etc it goes straight to my gut and causes these symptoms. He's not saying they're not real because pain is real. It's just I have a very sensitive gut.
he wants me to talk to my psychologist.
he said I could possibly have another attack. I need to eat very carefully and if I get pains again to go to either my doctor or hospital. Or i can go off food for two days and give bowel a rest.
He's on holidays as of Friday for a week. He said if not well I can contact him also.
he's a very good specialist.

im trying very hard to not think about wirk but tonight I received an email from centrelink saying my job search will increase. Great more stress.

it's so hard to not stress. I guess one day at a time.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay I am pleased you will be home tomorrow and I guess the real test will be to stay away from hot cross buns, easter eggs and stress....that's a big ask! I don't envy you but I'll be thinking of you.

We do passover in our family for no other reason than I decided there was way too much chocolate devoured so I go all out with a Passover lamb and all the trimmings. Much more meaningful but a huge amount of work for me!!

Anyway take care my friend and remember we're all on this journey together.

I know why couldn't this happen after Easter!!!

These food changes are going to be so difficult but necessary.
I'm going to cook a lamb for Easter. It's just me hubby and boys. No dsughter or granddaughter this year. I'm going to miss them. But wel will egg hunt the week after.

I'm really emotional right now. I don't know why. Of course I know why -

my health,

chsnge of eating plan,

look for new and look to sell our home.
