Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

So today was day two of registers. It was good. Served lots of customers. The only down side is my back hips snd elbow. All very sore. The supervisor on today mentioned that I did really well yesterday.

Re: Need to vent

It's so good you enjoy the registers. The training is great to open your opportunities.

It is an issue with your back and hips though. Being on your feet all day would not be ideal. I know people who've ended up have leg amd feet issues. In the light of long term, are there any other options you have?

Just a thought.

Re: Need to vent

How are you @BPDSurvivor

No not really any other options

although I do have admin experience and I've been applying for about 5 jobs a month but no positive outcomes.
im not sure what to do. I have issues it's my back. The lower part of bsvk is curved a lot. Which causes pain. I managed to walk around a little today. But this afternoon I had to lay down. With register wirk there's heavy lifting of bags once I pack them and a lot of reaching out which isn't good. There is a heavy duty mat which is meant to help.

Msybe I'm too old (55) for this type of work. I thought even if I worked in pharmacy I would still be sore as I would be standing all day.

I really don't know. Been knocked back over and over isn't helping my mental health. It's making it worse.

my daughter is moving out soon - after Easter. I'm struggling with this. Not having her or little A with me every day. I know it's fantastic for her and her partner. It's their next stage of their relationship. I know they can't live with me forever. But I will miss littke A. She's been a big part of my life and vice versa. She's lived with us for 2 out of 3 years. That's a lot.
I'll get my house back to some normality but it will very quiet. Which I what I would like but now it's definitely going to happen it's hit me.

thinking of selling up snd moving to another area further away so we can hopefully get really good money for our house and buy somewhere cheaper and pay our mortgage off. Thst would be amazing.
it's a big decision but I feel we need to soon do we won't be so stressed all the time reg finances.

hi @MDT @Shaz51 @Emelia8 @Owlunar hope you are all ok xxxxx

Re: Need to vent

Yeah @MDT when I read back there is a lot going on. It's too much for my little mind!!

I really feel overwhelmed.

Re: Need to vent

I am gonna go for a walk @BlueBay down to the coffee shop. Its raining hard but I can wear the rainjacket i have. I haven't been going to gym as regularly as I have been i think because I'm just exhausted after my work. It really takes it out of me how much I don't like being there. So I have started to do evening walks. I guess that means I can focus on strength training at gym and not cardio. Better to work on cardio by walking outside than on a treadmill I think.

Re: Need to vent

Walking is a good exercise @MDT

I do enjoy walking listening to music. But I can't walk too much atm.
I prefer walking outside than using a treadmill. It's too boring on a treadmill.
I totally get it about wirk and not feeling good.

well we drove to some areas we thought were ok to live but we've now decided it's not the area for us. It's over an hour away from where we live. On our way home we stopped at another area much closer to hime about 40 minutes. It's a new estate but prices are cheaper. So in theory we would sell our home, get fantastic price and then move to a cheaper area and have money leftover.

im still not sure about my current job. I'm so confused. I think I need to break things down.
