Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hi there @BlueBay

It sure sounds like you've got a lot on at the moment.
My mother in law also has diverticulitis and has to be super careful with what she eats. I hope you get some relief from it soon.

It's also a really bad time of year for dealing with eating/weight issues. There's food ALL around and no escaping it. Everyone seems to indulge and when you have body image issues it can be quite a lot to deal with. There's no such thing as portion control on Christmas day and then there's the leftovers to deal with. I hope a session focussing on that helps you.

I bet little A is excited for Christmas. I really miss having a little one around at this time of year.

Sending my warmest wishes

Hanami

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay,

It's nice to `see' you. I'm sorry you aren't feeling to well - things sound pretty tough for you at the moment. It's good that you are seeing your psych tomorrow - a session around body image sounds like a good idea. It sad but I think so many people struggle with body image and weight issues. Christmas and the silly season doesn't help with food and drink used to celebrate. I find it easier to stick to a healthier way of life once New Year passes and life tends to go to some sort of normality.

You also seem to have a lot going on at the moment with your legal stuff, Telstra, your car etc. I know what you mean about it all feeling so overwhelming but all any of us can do is take one day at a time. I know myself if I start thinking about all that is going on in my life I go down a rabbits hole and it all feels too much.

You are doing well with having the presents wrapped and most of your food sorted - I haven't even started and I don't think I will til 24 December!

Take care too ❤️

Re: Need to vent

hey @BPDSurvivor yes having my daughter, her partner and little A. As well as my son (he goes to work that night).

Daughter's partner two girls will be with their mum, so i won't see them.

It will be a quiet but nice day. I have just bought some more food this morning. Just now need fresh fruit and salads.

I saw my psych this morning and we were supposed to talk about my eating disorder but we started talking about other things and then there wasn't enough time. So I see her in 3 weeks time and we will discuss that then.

I gave my psych a candle as a xmas gift and a thank you gift as she has been amazing to me this year.

I have stopped taking my strong meds for diverticulitis as it was making me feel worse. The pain has subsided now but i will have to be careful.

i will go now have to take care to mechanic.

chat later xxxxxx
