Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

thanks my friend @Shaz51

hi @Jynx so nice to speak to you; i haven't chatted to you for a while. and i just noted that you are the community manager, is this new for you?

so much happening, dr's visits, psych visits, legal aid stuff, tests, scans, and not sleeping and in the midst of moving with so much boxes everywhere. oh and on top of all this my car was hit was week and i need to get that fixed and will have no car for 2 weeks; in the middle of the move.

i did have little A last night and she was such a delight. i love it so much when she says to me 'i love you nonna' just random things she says and does; i love it and take it all in.

mixed emotions about the move. i think once we move and everything is in place i hope to feel more settled.

i had a barium swallow test done yesterday and i am suffering the side effects in my stomach. luckily i am seeing my doctor this morning early morning 7am appointment.

@Jynx i know that all my loved ones who have passed will be there. i guess my mind is curious.

i am sorry i posted about this topic; but here is where i can be completely honest and open and hope i am not being judged.

Re: Need to vent

Yeah wow @BlueBay so much going on! I agree with @Shaz51 that this is a safe spot to chat about it. It's okay to be curious, I think that's pretty normal - as long as it's a patient curiosity I suppose, if that makes sense.

Yes we have been filling in as CMs for a time, though just a temporary gig methinks. Happy to help out, it's such a wonderful community!

I really hope that things do settle for you soon - life stress does seem to come in waves, hey!

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay ,

Have you moved yet? I haven't been on in a while so I haven't caught up. The last time I read, you said you were moving in 2 weeks. (Sorry if you have already gone through this in your thread).

I'm not sure if I mentioned, but since getting broken into a few weeks ago, I had the assessor come out last Saturday. They have re-measured the doors and things, but they say it won't be done until next year....

Thank goodness I have another place to stay! Imagine if I had to stay in that house with no front door until next year!

I guess if it was an emergency, they'd put in a makeshift door, but because I'm pretty okay with it, I'll be waiting a while.

It's not the insurance's fault. It's a supply issue unfortunately. This issue is with so many people. I know a family who is building their own place. The property should have been ready months ago... they are still waiting and supplies won't be in until next year.

Oh well... such is life.

We can only do what we can. Smile when we can. Cry when we can. Love life when we can.

hugs to you @BlueBay

Re: Need to vent

Hi @BlueBay

Feeling this way is tough. Being overwhelmed can feel like we just can't cope. I'm wondering what's made you feel that you "can't do it" ?

Hugs

Hanami ❤️

@hanami

Hi.
i can’t do it - the move next Monday. It’s all too much. I’m not coping. Seeing all these boxes is not helping

the thought of moving packing and unpacking

I’m e haunted from not sleeping properly for over a week

feel like I’m burning out

so much to do still and so much guilt

home alone

I just want to stay in bed

but I have to do more packing

it’s really getting yo me

I’m struggling 😢😢

Re: Need to vent

There are some really rough feelings there. Not sleeping wouldn't be helping either.

I'm wondering what you need to help you feel like you will be able to do it. Help with the move? Are you able to have a short sleep and then tackle some packing? Would thinking about your new home once it's all done help? When I'm in this situation I try to think of a time that I thought I had to tackle something impossible. I'm still here today, which means I got through it. That knowing it will all eventually be over has helped me.

Sending hugs

Hanami
