Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Hugs @BlueBay ,

It's a hard thing to see your baby fly. But remember, you have technology to keep you connected. Has your son been able to set it up for you before he leaves?

Remember, it is YOU who has made your boy the man he is today. Send him off with those happy tears, knowing you are only a call away.

Here's a big hug for you,

tyme

Hi @tyme @Former-Member @Shaz51 @Bow @hanami @Emelia8 @Snowie @MDT and others I’ve forgotten

well last night we had a farewell party for our son. It was nice but I was busy doing the food. By the end my back was stuffed. When everyone left I went straight to bed. And once I hit the pillow I broke down. Crying for a while. Realising as everyone was saying goodbye to my son and his girlfriend that this is it now. Only 2 more days and I won’t see him for who knows how long 😢

this morning his partner said goodbye as she leaves tomorrow with her friends. She’s travelling for 3 weeks with her friends then catches up with my son. She was teary as I was too.

I’ve been teary all day. I’ve decided to not go to the airport. It’s too much. So my older son and hubby will take him. I’ll stay home and little A with my daughter will come over.

im sad and angry about my parents. They have zero interest in me or my kids. At all. Nothing. No phone call to wish him well. It hurts.

i feel the next two days are going to get harder. I’m going to miss him so much. He is one amazing son who will give whatever and do so much to help out.

Re: Need to vent

It is hard @BlueBay I had to stop going to the airport as I was always such a mess when saying goodbye.

My son lived in USA for 5 years and we would meet up with them in Hawaii which was nice but it’s so hard when our babies just aren’t living close by. When they returned they lived in remote WA which was just as hard.

Sitting with you and understanding your mother’s heart 💙💙💙

Re: Need to vent

Thanks @Shaz51 @Bow @Eve7

It’s hard as a mum to say goodbye as they leave the nest snd explore the world.

i think I’m glad I made my decision to not go to the airport. I’ll say goodbye at home. And then I’ll go for a long beach walk. Also I’ll see my daughter later with little A. She’ll cheer me up 😀

@Eve7 it must have been hard for you when your son moved on. Five years is a long time.
Thanks all for support love and hugs.
xxxxoooo

Re: Need to vent

thanks lovely @Snowie

i didn't want to sound like a 'silly mum' crying for her child leaving, but yes it is very hard.

I am trying to stay positive for him but gee it's hard. i have cooked his favourite meal tonight (pasta) and tomorrow morning we are all going to have a coffee together. Then hubby and older son will take him to the airport. I have decided to stay home. I just can't do airports except for when people arrive back!! Then i will definitely go when he comes back.

Looking at the news just now it is very very hot in Europe with fires in Spain and France. He is going to Spain so hoping he will be safe.

I've noticed that the past few days i have been very snappy at everyone. I think it's because my son is leaving.

Also my son called my parents to say goodbye but my mum was very cold on the phone; didn't ask him any questions at all. Then when he asked to speak to my dad she said he is asleep. i think that was an excuse. At least my son did the right thing and called otherwise i know my mum will say 'oh your son never rang us to say goodbye' but then again my parents didn't come to our farewell party on saturday.

my mum is such a horrible person. i can't believe really how she is.

Hi @BlueBay

Yep I can imagine the next couple of days will be hard for you. Let yourself feel sad if that's how you feel. It's a big thing to let go of your babies. So so hard. But you've raised a good child who has the confidence to 'fly'. You did a great job!

We are here for you. Check in often and let us know how you're going.

Sending hugs

Hanami
