Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Oh no @BPDSurvivor that doesn’t sound good. Yeah best you see your doctor.

We had little A stay the night. She was up at 2am coughing and couldn’t stop. I got up and gave her a drink then she hopped in my bed. I could hear how her cough was chesty. She’s staying with us for the day. I’ll make sure she stays rugged up.

she was at her dads yesterday and they went to a bbq and she was outside all day. I think that’s where she got sick as it was cold yesterday.

i think she wants to bake today - so maybe we’ll make banana bread and some cookies.

We’ve been up since 6am I’m having a coffee. She’s finished her coco pops and now colouring in. But very soon I’m sure she’ll say she’s hungry again!!!

Re: Need to vent

Yes @BlueBay , super sunny here too.

I return to work tomorrow. School holidays are over. I’m not sure if I am looking forward to it. I do miss the kids though.

Im planning a unit of ‘cooking’ with them. Going to read Possum Magic and then make pavlova, Vegemite sandwiches, lamingtons etc with the kids. The kids love it.

Hi @BPDSurvivor

yeah today was a beautiful day. I had little A all day until 4pm. We baked a banana bread and then she used the bowl to make a 'pretend cake'. she added some water, flour, cinnamon and coconut. she loved just stirring the bowl and telling me to taste her cake that she made!! So cute, she was busy for a while. then when her mum and partner came to pick her up she had to get them to taste her cake as well.

we took her to the park this morning after a stop off at the local cafe for a babychino.

back to a routine tomorrow?? my daughter is happy that kinda is back, it's nice to have them home but three girls 6 under is hard. her partners two girls went to their mum for the second week of hols.

my friend is a teacher and she is forever doing stuff at school on the holidays, or at home. preparing work for her kids. always busy.

i am sure the kids miss you on the holidays. what grade do you teach?

your plan for cooking sounds yum, wish i could come and help!!

have a good day back tomorrow @BPDSurvivor look forward to chatting again

take care xxxooo

Morning @BlueBay

How was the open house? I imagine you are totally over it.

Oh yep that guy in the Tinder Swindler was so horrid! Those poor women.

I'm so happy your dr was impressed with you.

I jinxed my husband saying he hasn't had a sore back since starting pilates. He got a sore back on the weekend and is off to the physio today. Sigh, getting older it not fun!

Hi @BlueBay,

Your little Miss A sounds absolutely gorgeous (and very energetic)! I'm sure she really enjoyed cooking with you - it sounds like you make Miss A's visits really special.

Hope you are well and your week ahead is good to you.

Best wishes,

FloatingFeather

Re: Need to vent

Oh no @hanami your poor hubby!!
hope he’s ok.

i did my walk this morning while listening to a true crime story of a detective catching a guy who harmed his employee. I know they sometimes sound a bit morbid but gee it’s interesting to hear how detectives work.

@FloatingFeather yeah little A is my delight. My little ray of sunshine ☀️

the things she says are so funny and she’s very clever.
and I always make sure she gets lots of hugs and kisses.

Re: Need to vent

That podcast sounds interesting. It always fascinates me how detectives work!

I need to find some new podcasts as I've exhausted the list I have of good ones.

Yep the poor husband 😥. He'll survive though. His physio seems to work magic on his aches and pains. He used to play rugby league so is probably paying the price now in his 50 for all the times he was knocked about!

Your little A sounds like such a blessing. So cute!
