Something’s not right

Need to vent

Need to vent

Hi everyone

I need to vent!!

I'm not coping

I'm not enjoying my new job. It's mundane, boring and triggering. For those who don't know, I was made redundant in my pharmacy job 4 days before Christmas. I then found a casual job at a supermarket. The job I do is very boring. I have far too much 'alone' time at work so my mind wanders to a lot of stuff. I asked my supervisor if i could learn the registers as thats what i would love to do. she replied that she couldn't until next year, don't know why as we are so short staffed and they need extras.

They advertise extra shifts or replacing a shift on facebook, which i really hate. but that's how they do it. i asked my supervisor if i could pick up extra shifts even though i don't know the registers. she replied yes thats fine that i would still do cleaning.

The other day a staff member posted she needed someone to do a shift. i was the first one tyo reply and accept the shift. another girl replied after me. the staff member replied back to me saying she would give that shift to the second girl as i don't know tyhe registers. I was so annoyed, angry and then upset. I feel used, and discriminated.

The problem is I am 'too scared' to confront my supervisor and ask again as i don't want the other member to get into gtrouble. so this means that i can't get any extra shifts until i learn the registers.

it is so wrong

the other issue i am having is seeing the old pharmacy customers. it's not an issue in that i see them, they love to talk. some still didn't know i had gone!!! but each time i see them and they say 'oh i am sorry to what happened to you' i get upset, hurt angry at the new owners. i miss the girls i used to work with and the job.

working for a much much bigger organisation is hard. there is so much clicks, so much politics and crap. i try to go in and do my job and go home.

but with so much time on my hands at work i start to think negatively.

i have recentyly had terrible vertigo, a 5 day migraine and today again another headache. i decided to call in sick and was spoken to so rude and short by the supervisor. it's like she doesn't believe me when i call in sick. and my anxiety is extremely high in having to ring her.

i don't have the confidence to leave and get another job. i feel i am not good enough

i am sorry to vent, i know a lot of you are struggling with your own issues. and that i should be thankful that i do have a job, as a lot of people have lost theirs.

Re: Need to vent

Hi @Paperdaisy im just coping. I managed to speak to my psych earlier. Told her all my concerns. She understands and cares about me and says she knows the stressors are making things worse.
im seeing her next week before she goes on annual leave for 3 weeks.
im so unmotivated I just don’t want to move from my bed. The weather is horrible and it’s cold.
so bed is where I’m staying. Although my psych encouraged me to go for a walk.
she wants me to try to give hubby a hug as this will improve our relationship. I told her if I did he would think I want to have sex. But she indicated no just one small step with a hug. She also wants to meet hubby so we can all have a discussion about relationships snd intimacy. I told her today that I can’t remember the last time we hugged. That’s pretty bad. 😥😥

thanks @Eve7 for the hugs last night.
thanks everyone for all your support.

@Snowie @grayhorn @tyme @Shaz51 @Emelia8 @BPDSurvivor

@grayhorn its so hard when I’ve been “conditioned “ a certain way growing up. But it doesn’t mean I can’t change.

i get angry so often. I get emotional all the time. I’m feeling like a lost cause. Like there’s no hope for me at all.
Guilt comes up a lot for me with a lot of our stressors. I blame myself a lot.

Re: Need to vent

Oh @BlueBay I'm so sorry. The weather definitely isn't helping at all. Can you and hubby go for a walk and have a hug on the beach? Might take away some of those fears you have, of sending out an unintended invitation? Just a thought.

I like to read you're open to change. It's hard to change those conditioned responses but you're doing the work and you may be making more progress than you think.

Stay strong 🙌

Re: Need to vent

Hey @BlueBay ,

What's something that's happened tonight to make you feel this way?

I hear it's not a pleasant space to be in right now.

I'm here for you and listening,

tyme

Re: Need to vent

Hi @tyme

I fail at everything / being a good mum or a good wife. Can’t even do that right.
i should tell hubby if he doesn’t want me anymore to go.
I’ve caused so much stress all because of me

Ending it all would solve all the problems

😥😥😥

Re: Need to vent

Having been around on the forums for a while now, I see evidence and glimpses of quite the opposite @BlueBay .

There is so much in you to that you offer to others, and that's why people want to be around you.

You have a huge heart for others, and remember we have spoken in the past of how amazing your children have become because of YOU?

Our minds like to draw us to the negatives, particularly in the evenings. This is how we have evolutionised. In the past, if human minds did not think of the negatives in the evening, they would be eaten alive by predators. Hence, our evolving mind has continued this negativity (particularly in the evenings). It is to help us survive.

Today, unfortunately, we have taken these same thoughts even though we no longer need negative thoughts to keep us alert for survival - hence the havoc it plays in today's society.

Let these thoughts come and go.

You ARE an amazing wife.

You ARE an amazing mother.

You ARE an amazing nonna.

Hugs,

tyme
